“From the time I brought Israel out of Egypt until today I have not dwelt in a house; instead, I have moved from one tent site to another, and from one tabernacle location to another.[fn]
The tabernacle of the LORD, which Moses made in the wilderness, and the altar of burnt offering were at the high place in Gibeon,
“Also, the Levites no longer need to carry the tabernacle or any of the equipment for its service” —
“For our ancestors were unfaithful and did what is evil in the sight of the LORD our God. They abandoned him, turned their faces away from the LORD’s dwelling place, and turned their backs on him.[fn]
Indeed, such is the dwelling of the unjust man,
and this is the place of the one who does not know God.
For you say, “Where now is the nobleman’s house? ”
and “Where are the tents the wicked lived in? ”
Send your light and your truth; let them lead me.
Let them bring me to your holy mountain,

There is a river —
its streams delight the city of God,

How devastated we are.
