The Lame Beggar Healed

1 Now ^G1161 Peter ^G4074 and John ^G2491 were going ^G305 up ^G305 to the temple ^G2413 at the [fn]ninth ^G1766 hour, the hour ^G5610 of prayer ^G4335.

2 And a man ^G435 who had been ^G5225 lame ^G5560 from his mother’s ^G3384 womb ^G2836 was being carried ^G941, whom ^G3739 they used to set ^G5087 down ^G5087 daily ^G2596 G2250 at the gate ^G2374 of the temple ^G2413 which is called ^G3004 Beautiful ^G5611, in order to beg ^G154 [fn]alms ^G1654 of those ^G3588 who were entering ^G1531 the temple ^G2413. 3 When he saw ^G3708 Peter ^G4074 and John ^G2491 about ^G3195 to ^G3195 go ^G1524 into the temple ^G2413, he began asking ^G2065 to receive ^G2983 alms ^G1654. 4 But when Peter ^G4074, along ^G4862 with John ^G2491, fixed ^G816 his gaze ^G816 on him, he said ^G3004, “Look ^G991 at us!” 5 And he began to give ^G1907 them his attention ^G1907, expecting ^G4328 to receive ^G2983 something ^G5100 from them. 6 But Peter ^G4074 said ^G3004, “I do not possess ^G5225 silver ^G694 and gold ^G5553, but what ^G3739 I do have ^G2192 I give ^G1325 to you: In the name ^G3686 of Jesus ^G2424 Christ ^G5547 the Nazarene ^G3480—walk ^G4043!” 7 And seizing ^G4084 him by the right ^G1188 hand ^G5495, he raised ^G1453 him up ^G1453; and immediately ^G3916 his feet ^G939 and his ankles ^G4974 were strengthened ^G4732. 8 And leaping ^G1814 up, he stood ^G2476 upright ^G2476 and began to walk ^G4043; and he entered ^G1525 the temple ^G2413 with them, walking ^G4043 and leaping ^G242 and praising ^G134 God ^G2316. 9 And all ^G3956 the people ^G2992 saw ^G3708 him walking ^G4043 and praising ^G134 God ^G2316; 10 and they were recognizing ^G1921 him, that ^G3754 he was the one who used to sit ^G2521 at the Beautiful ^G5611 Gate ^G4439 of the temple ^G2413 to beg alms ^G1654, and they were filled ^G4130 with wonder ^G2285 and amazement ^G1611 at what had happened ^G4819 to him.

Peter’s Sermon in Solomon’s Portico

11 And while he was clinging ^G2902 to Peter ^G4074 and John ^G2491, all ^G3956 the people ^G2992 ran ^G4936 together ^G4936 to them at the [fn]portico ^G4745 called ^G2564 Solomon’s ^G4672, full ^G1569 of wonder ^G1569.

12 But when Peter ^G4074 saw ^G3708 this, he replied ^G611 to the people ^G2992, “Men ^G435 of Israel ^G2475, why ^G5101 do you marvel ^G2296 at this ^G3778, or ^G2228 why ^G5101 do you gaze ^G816 at us, as if ^G5613 by our own ^G2398 power ^G1411 or ^G2228 piety ^G2150 we had made ^G4160 him walk ^G4043? 13 The God ^G2316 of Abraham ^G11, Isaac ^G2464, and Jacob ^G2384, the God ^G2316 of our fathers ^G3962, has glorified ^G1392 His Servant ^G3816 Jesus ^G2424, whom ^G3739 you delivered ^G3860 and denied ^G720 in the presence ^G4383 of Pilate ^G4091, when he had decided ^G2919 to release ^G630 Him. 14 But you denied ^G720 the Holy ^G40 and Righteous ^G1342 One ^G1342 and asked ^G154 for a murderer ^G5406 to be granted ^G5483 to you, 15 but put ^G615 to ^G615 death ^G615 the Author ^G747 of life ^G2222, whom ^G3739 God ^G2316 raised ^G1453 from the dead ^G3498, a fact to which ^G3739 we are witnesses ^G3144. 16 And on the basis ^G1909 of faith ^G4102 in His name ^G3686, it is [fn]the name ^G3686 of Jesus which has strengthened ^G4732 this ^G3778 man whom ^G3739 you see ^G2334 and know ^G6063; and the faith ^G4102 which is through ^G1223 Him has given ^G1325 him this ^G3778 perfect ^G3647 health ^G3647 in the presence ^G561 of you all ^G3956.

17 “And now ^G3568, brothers ^G80, I know ^G6063 that you acted ^G4238 in ignorance ^G52, just ^G5618 as your rulers ^G758 did also ^G2532. 18 But the things which ^G3739 God ^G2316 announced ^G4293 beforehand ^G4293 by the mouth ^G4750 of all ^G3956 the prophets ^G4396, that His [fn]Christ ^G5547 would suffer ^G3958, He has thus ^G3779 fulfilled ^G4137. 19 Therefore ^G3767 repent ^G3340 and return ^G1994, so ^G1519 that your sins ^G266 may be wiped ^G1813 away ^G1813, in ^G3704 order ^G3704 that ^G3704 [fn]times ^G2540 of refreshing ^G403 may come ^G2064 from the presence ^G4383 of the Lord ^G2962; 20 and that He may send ^G649 Jesus ^G2424, the [fn]Christ ^G5547 appointed ^G4400 for you, 21 whom ^G3739 heaven ^G3772 must ^G1163 receive ^G1209 until ^G891 the [fn]period ^G5550 of restoration ^G605 of all ^G3956 things ^G3956 about which ^G3739 God ^G2316 spoke ^G2980 by the mouth ^G4750 of His holy ^G40 prophets ^G4396 from ancient ^G165 time ^G165. 22 Moses ^G3475 said ^G3004, ‘THE [fn]LORD ^G2962 GOD ^G2316 WILL RAISE ^G450 UP ^G450 FOR YOU A PROPHET ^G4396 [fn]LIKE ^G5613 ME FROM YOUR BROTHERS ^G80; TO HIM YOU SHALL LISTEN ^G191 to everything ^G3956 He says ^G2980 to you. 23 AND IT WILL BE THAT EVERY ^G3956 SOUL ^G5590 THAT DOES NOT HEED ^G191 THAT PROPHET ^G4396 SHALL BE UTTERLY ^G1842 DESTROYED ^G1842 FROM AMONG ^G1537 THE PEOPLE ^G2992.’ 24 And likewise ^G2532, all ^G3956 the prophets ^G4396 who ^G3745 have spoken ^G2980, from Samuel ^G4545 and his successors ^G2517 onward ^G2517, also ^G2532 proclaimed ^G2605 these ^G3778 days ^G2250. 25 It is you who are the sons ^G5207 of the prophets ^G4396 and of the covenant ^G1242 which ^G3739 God ^G2316 [fn]made ^G1303 with your fathers ^G3962, saying ^G3004 to Abraham ^G11, ‘AND IN YOUR SEED ^G4690 ALL ^G3956 THE FAMILIES ^G3965 OF THE EARTH ^G1093 SHALL BE BLESSED ^G1757.’ 26 For you first ^G4413, God ^G2316 raised ^G450 up ^G450 His [fn]Servant ^G3816 and sent ^G649 Him to bless ^G2127 you by turning ^G654 every ^G1538 one ^G1538 of you from your wicked ^G4189 ways ^G4189.”
