Bringing First Fruits and Tithes

1 “Then it will be, when ^H3588 you enter ^H935 the land ^H776 which ^H834 Yahweh ^H3068 your God ^H430 gives ^H5414 you as an inheritance ^H5159 and you possess ^H3423 it and live ^H3427 in it,

2 that you shall take ^H3947 some ^H4480 of the first ^H7225 of all ^H3605 the fruit ^H6529 of the ground ^H127 which ^H834 you bring ^H935 in ^H935 from your land ^H776 that Yahweh ^H3068 your God ^H430 gives ^H5414 you, and you shall put ^H7760 it in a basket ^H2935 and go ^H1980 to the place ^H4725 where ^H834 H8033 Yahweh ^H3068 your God ^H430 chooses ^H977 for His name ^H8034 to dwell ^H7931. 3 And you shall go ^H935 to the priest ^H3548 who ^H834 is in ^H935 office in those days ^H3117 and say ^H559 to him, ‘I declare ^H5046 this day ^H3117 to Yahweh ^H3068 [fn]my God ^H430 that I have entered ^H935 the land ^H776 which ^H834 Yahweh ^H3068 swore ^H7650 to our fathers ^H1 to give ^H5414 us.’ 4 Then the priest ^H3548 shall take ^H3947 the basket ^H2935 from your hand ^H3027 and set ^H5117 it down ^H5117 before ^H6440 the altar ^H4196 of Yahweh ^H3068 your God ^H430. 5 And you shall answer ^H6030 and say ^H559 before ^H6440 Yahweh ^H3068 your God ^H430, ‘My father ^H1 was a [fn]wandering ^H6 Aramean ^H761, and he went ^H3381 down ^H3381 to Egypt ^H4714 and [fn]sojourned ^H1481 there ^H8033, few ^H4592 in number ^H4962; but there ^H8033 he became ^H1961 a great ^H1419, mighty ^H6099, and populous ^H7227 nation ^H1471. 6 And the Egyptians ^H4713 treated ^H7489 us harshly ^H7489 and afflicted ^H6031 us and imposed ^H5414 hard ^H7186 slave ^H5656 labor ^H5656 on us. 7 Then we cried ^H6817 out ^H6817 to Yahweh ^H3068, the God ^H430 of our fathers ^H1, and Yahweh ^H3068 heard ^H8085 our voice ^H6963 and saw ^H7200 our affliction ^H6040 and our toil ^H5999 and our oppression ^H3906; 8 and Yahweh ^H3068 brought ^H3318 us out ^H3318 of Egypt ^H4714 with a strong ^H2389 hand ^H3027 and an outstretched ^H5186 arm ^H2220 and with great ^H1419 terror ^H4172 and with signs ^H226 and wonders ^H4159; 9 and He has brought ^H935 us to this ^H2088 place ^H4725 and has given ^H5414 us this ^H2088 land ^H776, a land ^H776 flowing ^H2100 with milk ^H2461 and honey ^H1706. 10 So now ^H6258 behold ^H2009, I have brought ^H935 the first ^H7225 of the fruit ^H6529 of the ground ^H127 which ^H834 You, O Yahweh ^H3068, have given ^H5414 me.’ And you shall set ^H5117 it down ^H5117 before ^H6440 Yahweh ^H3068 your God ^H430 and worship ^H2331 before ^H6440 Yahweh ^H3068 your God ^H430; 11 and you and the Levite ^H3881 and the sojourner ^H1616 who ^H834 is among ^H7130 you shall be glad ^H8055 in all ^H3605 the good ^H2896 which ^H834 Yahweh ^H3068 your God ^H430 has given ^H5414 you and your household ^H1004.

12 “When ^H3588 you have finished ^H3615 [fn]paying ^H6237 all ^H3605 the tithe ^H4643 of your produce ^H8393 in the third ^H7992 year ^H8141, the year ^H8141 of tithing ^H4643, then you shall give ^H5414 it to the Levite ^H3881, to the sojourner ^H1616, to the [fn]orphan ^H3490, and to the widow ^H490, that they may eat ^H398 within your gates ^H8179 and be ^H7646 satisfied ^H7646. 13 Then you shall say ^H559 before ^H6440 Yahweh ^H3068 your God ^H430, ‘I have purged ^H1197 the sacred ^H6944 portion from my house ^H1004, and I also ^H1571 have given ^H5414 it to the Levite ^H3881 and the sojourner ^H1616, the [fn]orphan ^H3490 and the widow ^H490, according to all ^H3605 Your commandments ^H4687 which ^H834 You have commanded ^H6680 me; I have not trespassed ^H5674 against or forgotten ^H7911 any ^H4480 of Your commandments ^H4687. 14 I have not eaten ^H398 of it [fn]while mourning ^H205, nor ^H3808 have I purged ^H1197 any ^H4480 of it while I was unclean ^H2931, nor ^H3808 have I given ^H5414 any ^H4480 of it to the dead ^H4191. I have listened ^H8085 to the voice ^H6963 of Yahweh ^H3068 my God ^H430; I have done ^H6213 according to all ^H3605 that You have commanded ^H6680 me. 15 Look ^H8259 down ^H8259 from Your holy ^H6944 habitation ^H4583, from heaven ^H8064, and bless ^H1288 Your people ^H5971 Israel ^H3478 and the ground ^H127 which ^H834 You have given ^H5414 to us, a land ^H776 flowing ^H2100 with milk ^H2461 and honey ^H1706, as You swore ^H7650 to our fathers ^H1.’

16 “This ^H2088 day ^H3117 Yahweh ^H3068 your God ^H430 commands ^H6680 you to do ^H6213 these ^H428 statutes ^H2706 and judgments ^H4941. You shall therefore be ^H8104 careful ^H8104 to do ^H6213 them with all ^H3605 your heart ^H3824 and with all ^H3605 your soul ^H5315. 17 You have today ^H3117 declared ^H559 Yahweh ^H3068 to be your God ^H430, and [fn]that you would walk ^H1980 in His ways ^H1870 and keep ^H8104 His statutes ^H2706, His commandments ^H4687, and His judgments ^H4941, and listen ^H8085 to His voice ^H6963. 18 And Yahweh ^H3068 has today ^H3117 declared ^H559 you to be His people ^H5971, a treasured ^H5459 possession ^H5459, as He promised ^H1696 you, and [fn]that you should keep ^H8104 all ^H3605 His commandments ^H4687; 19 and [fn]that He will set ^H5414 you high ^H5945 above ^H5921 all ^H3605 nations ^H1471 which ^H834 He has made ^H6213, for praise ^H8416, a name ^H8034, and beauty ^H8597; and that you shall be a holy ^H6918 people ^H5971 to Yahweh ^H3068 your God ^H430, as He has spoken ^H1696.”
