The Judgments of the Branch

1 Then a shoot ^H2415 will spring ^H3318 from the stem ^H1503 of Jesse ^H3448,

And a branch ^H5342 from his roots ^H8328 will bear ^H6509 fruit ^H6509.

2 The Spirit ^H7307 of Yahweh ^H3068 will rest ^H5117 on Him,

The spirit ^H7307 of wisdom ^H2451 and understanding ^H998,

The spirit ^H7307 of counsel ^H6098 and might ^H1369,

The spirit ^H7307 of knowledge ^H1847 and the fear ^H3374 of Yahweh ^H3068.

3 And He will delight ^H7306 in the fear ^H3374 of Yahweh ^H3068,

And He will not judge ^H8199 by what ^H4758 His eyes ^H5869 see ^H4758,

Nor ^H3808 render ^H3198 a decision ^H3198 by what ^H4926 His ears ^H241 hear ^H4926;

4 But with righteousness ^H6664 He will judge ^H8199 the poor ^H1800,

And decide ^H3198 with uprightness ^H4334 for the afflicted ^H6035 of the earth ^H776;

And He will strike ^H5221 the earth ^H776 with the rod ^H7626 of His mouth ^H6310,

A Remnant Remains

10 Then it will be in that day ^H3117,

That the nations ^H1471 will seek ^H1875 the root ^H8328 of Jesse ^H3448,

Who ^H834 will stand ^H5975 as a [fn]standard ^H5251 for the peoples ^H5971;

And His resting ^H4496 place ^H4496 will be [fn]glorious ^H3519.

11 Then it will be ^H1961 in that day ^H3117, that the Lord ^H136

Will again ^H3254 acquire ^H7069 the second ^H8145 time ^H8145 with His hand ^H3027

The remnant ^H7605 of His people ^H5971, who ^H834 will remain ^H7604,

From Assyria ^H804, Egypt ^H4714, Pathros ^H6624, [fn]Ethiopia ^H3568, Elam ^H5867, Shinar ^H8152, Hamath ^H2574,

And from the coastlands ^H339 of the sea ^H3220.

12 And He will lift ^H5375 up ^H5375 a standard ^H5251 for the nations ^H1471

And assemble ^H622 the banished ^H5080 ones of Israel ^H3478,

And will gather ^H6908 the scattered ^H5310 of Judah ^H3063

From the four ^H702 corners ^H3671 of the earth ^H776.

13 Then the jealousy ^H7068 of Ephraim ^H669 will depart ^H5493,

And those who assail ^H6887 Judah ^H3063 will be cut ^H3772 off ^H3772;

Ephraim ^H669 will not be ^H7065 jealous ^H7065 of Judah ^H3063,

And Judah ^H3063 will not assail ^H6887 Ephraim ^H669.

14 And they will swoop ^H5774 down ^H5774 on the slopes ^H3802 of the Philistines ^H6430 on the west ^H3220;

15 And Yahweh ^H3068 will devote ^H2763 to destruction ^H2763

And He will wave ^H5130 His hand ^H3027 over ^H5921 the [fn]River ^H5104

With His scorching ^H5868 wind ^H7307;

16 And there will be a highway ^H4546 from Assyria ^H804

For the remnant ^H7605 of His people ^H5971 who ^H834 will remain ^H7604,

Just ^H834 as there was for Israel ^H3478

In the day ^H3117 that they came ^H5927 up ^H5927 out of the land ^H776 of Egypt ^H4714.
