The Redemption of Israel

1 But now ^H6258, thus ^H3541 says ^H559 Yahweh ^H3068, your Creator ^H1254, O Jacob ^H3290,

And He who formed ^H3335 you, O Israel ^H3478,

“Do not fear ^H3372, for I have redeemed ^H1350 you;

I have called ^H7121 you by name ^H8034; you are Mine!

2 “When ^H3588 you pass ^H5674 through the waters ^H4325, I will be with you;

And through the rivers ^H5104, they will not overflow ^H7857 you.

When ^H3588 you walk ^H1980 through ^H1119 the fire ^H784, you will not be scorched ^H3554,

Nor ^H3808 will the flame ^H3852 burn ^H1197 you.

3 “For I am Yahweh ^H3068 your God ^H430,

The Holy ^H6918 One ^H6918 of Israel ^H3478, your Savior ^H3467;

I have given ^H5414 Egypt ^H4714 as your ransom ^H3724,

[fn]Ethiopia ^H3568 and Seba ^H5434 in your place ^H8478.

4 “Since ^H4480 H834 you are ^H3365 precious ^H3365 in My sight ^H5869,

Since you are honored ^H3513 and I love ^H157 you,

I will give ^H5414 other men ^H120 in your place ^H8478 and other peoples ^H3816 in ^H8478 exchange ^H8478 for ^H8478 your life ^H5315.

5 “Do not fear ^H3372, for I am with you;

I will bring ^H935 your seed ^H2233 from the east ^H4217,

And gather ^H6908 you from the west ^H4628.

6 “I will say ^H559 to the north ^H6828, ‘Give ^H5414 them up ^H5414!’

And to the south ^H8486, ‘Do not hold ^H3607 them back ^H3607.’

Bring ^H935 My sons ^H1121 from afar ^H7350

And My daughters ^H1323 from the ends ^H7097 of the earth ^H776,

7 Everyone ^H3605 who is called ^H7121 by My name ^H8034,

And whom I have created ^H1254 for My glory ^H3519,

Whom I have formed ^H3335, even ^H637 whom I have made ^H6213.”

Israel Is Yahweh’s Witness

8 Bring ^H3318 out ^H3318 the people ^H5971 who ^H5787 are blind ^H5787, even though they have ^H3426 eyes ^H5869,

And the deaf ^H2795, even though they have ears ^H241.

9 All ^H3605 the nations ^H1471 have gathered ^H6908 together ^H3162

So that the peoples ^H3816 may be assembled ^H622.

Who ^H4310 among them can declare ^H5046 this ^H2088

And make ^H8085 us hear ^H8085 the former ^H7223 things ^H7223?

Let them present ^H5414 their witnesses ^H5707 that they may be justified ^H6663,

Or let them hear ^H8085 and say ^H559, “It is true ^H571.”

10 “You are My witnesses ^H5707,” declares ^H5002 Yahweh ^H3068,

“And My servant ^H5650 whom ^H834 I have chosen ^H977,

So that you may know ^H3045 and believe ^H539 Me

And understand ^H995 that I am He.

Before ^H6440 Me there was no ^H3808 god ^H410 formed ^H3335,

And there will be none ^H3808 after ^H310 Me.

11 “I, even I, am Yahweh ^H3068,

And there ^H369 is ^H369 no ^H369 savior ^H3467 besides ^H4480 H1107 Me.

12 “It is I who have declared ^H5046 and saved ^H3467 and caused ^H8085 it to ^H8085 be ^H8085 heard ^H8085,

And there ^H369 was ^H369 no ^H369 strange ^H2114 god among you;

So you are My witnesses ^H5707,” declares ^H5002 Yahweh ^H3068,

“And I am God ^H410.

13 “Even ^H1571 [fn]from eternity ^H3117 I am He,

And there ^H369 is ^H369 none ^H369 who can deliver ^H5337 out ^H5337 of My hand ^H3027;

I act ^H6466 and who ^H4310 can reverse ^H7725 it?”

Rivers in the Wasteland

14 Thus ^H3541 says ^H559 Yahweh ^H3068 your Redeemer ^H1350, the Holy ^H6918 One ^H6918 of Israel ^H3478,

“For your sake ^H4616 I have sent ^H7971 to Babylon ^H894,

And will bring ^H3381 down ^H3381 those who fled ^H1281—all ^H3605 of them,

[fn]Even the Chaldeans ^H3778—into the ships ^H591 [fn]in which they shouted ^H7440 for joy ^H7440.

15 “I am Yahweh ^H3068, your Holy ^H6918 One ^H6918,

The Creator ^H1254 of Israel ^H3478, your King ^H4428.”

16 Thus ^H3541 says ^H559 Yahweh ^H3068,

Who makes ^H5414 a way ^H1870 through the sea ^H3220

And a path ^H5410 through the mighty ^H5794 waters ^H4325,

17 Who brings ^H3318 forth ^H3318 the chariot ^H7393 and the horse ^H5483,

The military ^H2428 force ^H2428 and the mighty ^H5808 man ^H5808;

They will lie ^H7901 down ^H7901 together ^H3162 and not rise ^H6965 again;

They have been extinguished ^H1846 and quenched ^H3518 like a wick ^H6594:

18 “Do not remember ^H2142 the former ^H7223 things ^H7223,

Nor carefully ^H995 consider ^H995 things ^H6931 of the past ^H6931.

19 “Behold ^H2009, I will do ^H6213 something ^H2319 new ^H2319;

Now ^H6258 it will spring ^H6779 forth ^H6779;

Will you not know ^H3045 it?

I will even ^H637 make ^H7760 a roadway ^H1870 in the wilderness ^H4057,

Rivers ^H5104 in the wasteland ^H3452.

20 “The beasts ^H2416 of the field ^H7704 will glorify ^H3513 Me,

The jackals ^H8565 and the ostriches ^H3284,

Because ^H3588 I have given ^H5414 waters ^H4325 in the wilderness ^H4057

And rivers ^H5104 in the wasteland ^H3452,

To give ^H8248 drink ^H8248 to My chosen ^H972 people ^H5971.

21 “The people ^H5971 whom ^H2098 I formed ^H3335 for Myself

Will recount ^H5608 My praise ^H8416.

22 “Yet you have not called ^H7121 on Me, O Jacob ^H3290;

But you have become ^H3021 weary ^H3021 of Me, O Israel ^H3478.

23 “You have not brought ^H935 to Me the sheep ^H7716 of your burnt ^H5930 offerings ^H5930,

Nor ^H3808 have you glorified ^H3513 Me with your sacrifices ^H2077.

I have not burdened ^H5647 you with [fn]offerings ^H4503,

Nor ^H3808 wearied ^H3021 you with frankincense ^H3828.

24 “You have not bought ^H7069 Me [fn]sweet ^H7070 cane ^H7070 with money ^H3701,

Nor ^H3808 have you satisfied ^H7301 Me with the fat ^H2459 of your sacrifices ^H2077;

Rather ^H389 you have burdened ^H5647 Me with your sins ^H2403;

You have wearied ^H3021 Me with your iniquities ^H5771.

25 “I, even I, am the one who wipes ^H4229 out ^H4229 your transgressions ^H6588 for My own sake ^H4616,

And I will not remember ^H2142 your sins ^H2403.

26 “[fn]Bring ^H2142 Me to ^H2142 remembrance ^H2142, let us enter ^H8199 into judgment ^H8199 together ^H3162;

Recount ^H5608 your cause, that you may be proved ^H6663 right ^H6663.

27 “Your first ^H7223 father ^H1 sinned ^H2398,

And your [fn]spokesmen ^H3887 have [fn]transgressed ^H6586 against Me.

28 “So I will [fn]profane ^H2490 the [fn]princes ^H8269 of the sanctuary ^H6944,

And I will give ^H5414 Jacob ^H3290 to be devoted ^H2764 to destruction ^H2764 and Israel ^H3478 to revilement ^H1421.
