Judgment and Salvation

1 “I permitted Myself to be sought ^H1875 by those who did not ask ^H7592 for Me;

I permitted Myself to be found ^H4672 by those who did not seek ^H1245 Me.

I said ^H559, ‘Here ^H2009 am I, here ^H2009 am I,’

To a nation ^H1471 which did not call ^H7121 on My name ^H8034.

2 “I have spread ^H6566 out ^H6566 My hands ^H3027 all ^H3605 day ^H3117 long to a rebellious ^H5637 people ^H5971,

Who walk ^H1980 in the way ^H1870 which is not good ^H2896, [fn]following ^H310 their own thoughts ^H4284,

3 A people ^H5971 who continually ^H8548 provoke ^H3707 Me to My face ^H6440,

Offering ^H2076 sacrifices ^H2076 in gardens ^H1593 and burning ^H6999 incense ^H6999 on bricks ^H3843,

4 Who sit ^H3427 among graves ^H6913 and spend ^H3885 the ^H3885 night ^H3885 in secret ^H5341 places ^H5341,

Who eat ^H398 swine’s ^H2386 flesh ^H1320,

And the broth ^H4839 of offensive ^H6292 meat ^H6292 is in their pots ^H3627,

5 Who say ^H559, ‘Keep ^H7126 to yourself, do not come ^H5066 near ^H5066 me,

For I am ^H6942 holier ^H6942 than you!’

These ^H428 are smoke ^H6227 in My [fn]nostrils ^H639,

A fire ^H784 that burns ^H3344 all ^H3605 the day ^H3117.

6 “Behold ^H2009, it is written ^H3789 before ^H6440 Me:

I will not keep ^H2814 silent ^H2814, but I will repay ^H7999;

I will even repay ^H7999 into their bosom ^H2436,

7 Both [fn]their own iniquities ^H5771 and the iniquities ^H5771 of their fathers ^H1 together ^H3162,” says ^H559 Yahweh ^H3068.

“Because ^H834 they have burned ^H6999 incense ^H6999 on the mountains ^H2022

And reproached ^H2778 Me on the hills ^H1389,

Therefore I will measure ^H4058 their former ^H7223 work ^H6468 into their bosom ^H2436.”

8 Thus ^H3541 says ^H559 Yahweh ^H3068,

“As the new ^H8492 wine ^H8492 is found ^H4672 in the cluster ^H811,

And one says ^H559, ‘Do not make ^H7843 it a ruin ^H7843, for there is [fn]benefit ^H1293 in it,’

So ^H3651 I will act ^H6213 on behalf ^H4616 of My slaves ^H5650

In order not to make ^H7843 [fn]all ^H3605 of them a ruin ^H7843.

9 “I will bring ^H3318 forth ^H3318 a seed ^H2233 from Jacob ^H3290,

And a possessor ^H3423 of My mountains ^H2022 from Judah ^H3063;

Even My chosen ^H972 ones ^H972 shall possess ^H3423 it,

And My slaves ^H5650 will dwell ^H7931 there ^H8033.

10 “Sharon ^H8289 will be a pasture ^H5116 land ^H5116 for flocks ^H6629,

And the valley ^H6010 of Achor ^H5911 a resting ^H7258 place ^H7258 for herds ^H1241,

For My people ^H5971 who ^H834 seek ^H1875 Me.

11 “But you who forsake ^H5800 Yahweh ^H3068,

Who ^H7913 forget ^H7913 My holy ^H6944 mountain ^H2022,

Who ^H7913 set ^H6186 a table ^H7979 for [fn]Fortune ^H1409,

And who fill ^H4390 cups with mixed ^H4469 wine ^H4469 for [fn]Destiny ^H4507,

12 I will destine ^H4487 you for the sword ^H2719,

And all ^H3605 of you will bow ^H3766 down ^H3766 to the slaughter ^H2874,

Because ^H3282 I called ^H7121, but you did not answer ^H6030;

I spoke ^H1696, but you did not hear ^H8085.

And you did ^H6213 what ^H7451 was evil ^H7451 in My eyes ^H5869

And chose ^H977 that in which ^H834 I was not pleased ^H2654.”

13 Therefore ^H3651, thus ^H3541 says ^H559 Lord ^H136 Yahweh ^H3068,

“Behold ^H2009, My slaves ^H5650 will eat ^H398, but you will be hungry ^H7456.

Behold ^H2009, My slaves ^H5650 will drink ^H8354, but you will be ^H6770 thirsty ^H6770.

Behold ^H2009, My slaves ^H5650 will be glad ^H8055, but you will be put ^H954 to ^H954 shame ^H954.

14 “Behold ^H2009, My slaves ^H5650 will shout ^H7442 joyfully ^H7442 with a merry ^H2898 heart ^H3820,

But you will cry ^H6817 out ^H6817 with a pained ^H3511 heart ^H3820,

And you will wail ^H3213 with a broken ^H7665 spirit ^H7307.

15 “You will leave ^H5117 your name ^H8034 for a [fn]curse ^H7621 to My chosen ^H972 ones ^H972,

And Lord ^H136 Yahweh ^H3068 will put ^H4191 you to ^H4191 death ^H4191.

But [fn]My slaves ^H5650 will be called ^H7121 by another ^H312 name ^H8034,

16 Because ^H834 he who [fn]is blessed ^H1288 in the earth ^H776

Will [fn]be blessed ^H1288 by the God ^H430 of truth ^H543,

And he who swears ^H7650 in the earth ^H776

Will swear ^H7650 by the God ^H430 of truth ^H543;

Because ^H3588 the former ^H7223 distresses ^H6869 are forgotten ^H7911,

And because ^H3588 they are hidden ^H5641 from My sight ^H5869!

New Heavens and a New Earth

17 “For behold ^H2009, I am creating ^H1254 a new ^H2319 heavens ^H8064 and a new ^H2319 earth ^H776;

And the former ^H7223 things ^H7223 will not be remembered ^H2142 or come ^H5927 upon the heart ^H3820.

18 “But be joyful ^H7797 and rejoice ^H1523 forever ^H5703 in what ^H834 I create ^H1254;

For behold ^H2009, I create ^H1254 Jerusalem ^H3389 for rejoicing ^H1525

And her people ^H5971 for joy ^H4885.

19 “I will also rejoice ^H1523 in Jerusalem ^H3389 and be joyful ^H7797 in My people ^H5971;

And there will no ^H3808 longer ^H5750 be heard ^H8085 in her

The voice ^H6963 of weeping ^H1065 and the voice ^H6963 of crying ^H2201.

20 “No ^H3808 longer ^H5750 will there be [fn]in it an infant ^H5764 who lives but a few days ^H3117,

Or an old ^H2205 man ^H2205 who ^H834 does not fulfill ^H4390 his days ^H3117;

For the youth ^H5288 will die ^H4191 at the age ^H1121 of one hundred ^H3967,

And the [fn]one who does ^H2398 not ^H2398 reach ^H2398 the age ^H1121 of one hundred ^H3967

Will be ^H7043 thought accursed ^H7043.

21 “They will build ^H1129 houses ^H1004 and inhabit ^H3427 them;

They will also plant ^H5193 vineyards ^H3754 and eat ^H398 their fruit ^H6529.

22 “They will not build ^H1129 and another ^H312 inhabit ^H3427;

They will not plant ^H5193 and another ^H312 eat ^H398;

For as the [fn]lifetime ^H3117 of a tree ^H6086, so will be the days ^H3117 of My people ^H5971,

And My chosen ^H972 ones ^H972 will wear ^H1086 out ^H1086 the work ^H4639 of their hands ^H3027.

23 “They will not labor ^H3021 in vain ^H7385,

Or bear ^H3205 children for terror ^H928;

For they are the seed ^H2233 of those blessed ^H1288 by Yahweh ^H3068,

And their offspring ^H6631 with them.

24 And it will be ^H1961 that before ^H2962 they call ^H7121, I will answer ^H6030, and while they are still ^H5750 speaking ^H1696, I will hear ^H8085.

25 The wolf ^H2061 and the lamb ^H2924 will graze ^H7462 together ^H259, and the lion ^H738 will eat ^H398 straw ^H8401 like the ox ^H1241; and dust ^H6083 will be the serpent’s ^H5175 food ^H3899. They will do ^H7489 no ^H3808 evil ^H7489 nor act ^H7843 corruptly ^H7843 in all ^H3605 My holy ^H6944 mountain ^H2022,” says ^H559 Yahweh ^H3068.
