Many Women Contribute to Jesus’ Ministry

2 and also some ^G5100 women ^G1135 who ^G3739 had been ^G1510 healed ^G2323 of evil ^G4190 spirits ^G4151 and sicknesses ^G769: Mary ^G3137 who was called ^G2564 Magdalene ^G3094, from whom ^G3739 seven ^G2033 demons ^G1140 had gone ^G1831 out ^G1831, 3 and Joanna ^G2489 the wife ^G1135 of Chuza ^G5529, Herod’s ^G2264 manager ^G2012, and Susanna ^G4677, and many ^G4183 others ^G2087 who ^G3748 were ministering ^G1247 to ^G1247 them from their possessions ^G5225.

The Parable of the Sower

4 Now when a large ^G4183 crowd ^G3793 was coming ^G4896 together ^G4896, and those ^G3588 from the various ^G2596 cities ^G4172 were journeying ^G1975 to Him, He spoke ^G3004 by way ^G1223 of a parable ^G3850:

The Parable of the Sower Explained

9 And His disciples ^G3101 began questioning ^G1905 Him as to what ^G5101 this ^G3778 parable ^G3850 meant ^G1510.

A Lampstand and the Light

Jesus’ Mother and Brothers

19 And His mother ^G3384 and brothers ^G80 came ^G3854 to Him, and they were unable ^G3756 G1410 to get ^G4940 to Him because ^G1223 of the crowd ^G3793.

20 And it was reported ^G518 to Him, “Your mother ^G3384 and Your brothers ^G80 are standing ^G2476 outside ^G1854, wishing ^G2309 to see ^G3708 You.” 21 But He answered ^G611 and said ^G3004 to them, “My mother ^G3384 and My brothers ^G80 are these ^G3778 who hear ^G191 the word ^G3056 of God ^G2316 and do ^G4160 it.”

Jesus Calms a Storm

22 Now ^G1161 it happened ^G1096 that on one ^G1520 of those days ^G2250 He and His disciples ^G3101 got ^G1684 into a boat ^G4143, and He said ^G3004 to them, “Let us go ^G1330 over ^G1330 to the other ^G4008 side ^G4008 of the lake ^G3041.” So ^G2532 they set ^G321 sail ^G321.

Jesus Saves a Man from Many Demons

27 And when He came ^G1831 out ^G1831 onto ^G1909 the land ^G1093, a man ^G435 from the city ^G4172 met ^G5221 Him, one who was possessed ^G2192 with demons ^G1140 and had not put ^G1746 on any garment ^G2440 for a long ^G2425 time ^G5550, and was not living ^G3306 in a house ^G3614, but in the tombs ^G3418. 28 Now seeing ^G3708 Jesus ^G2424, he cried ^G349 out ^G349 and fell ^G4363 before ^G4363 Him, and said ^G3004 in a loud ^G3173 voice ^G5456, “[fn]What ^G5101 do I ^G1698 have to do with You ^G4671, Jesus ^G2424, Son ^G5207 of the Most ^G5310 High ^G5310 God ^G2316? I beg ^G1189 You, do not torment ^G928 me.” 29 For He had commanded ^G3853 the unclean ^G169 spirit ^G4151 to come ^G1831 out ^G1831 of the man ^G444. For it had seized ^G4884 him many ^G4183 times ^G5550, and he was bound ^G1195 with chains ^G254 and shackles ^G3976, being kept ^G5442 under ^G5442 guard ^G5442. Jesus Heals a Woman and Jairus’ Daughter

40 And as Jesus ^G2424 returned ^G5290, the crowd ^G3793 welcomed ^G588 Him, for they had all ^G3956 been ^G1510 waiting ^G4328 for ^G4328 Him.

41 And behold ^G2400, there came ^G2064 a man ^G435 named ^G3686 Jairus ^G2383, and he was [fn]an official ^G758 of the synagogue ^G4864. And falling ^G4098 at Jesus’ ^G2424 feet ^G4228, he began to plead ^G3870 with Him to come ^G1525 to his house ^G3624, 42 for he had ^G1510 an [fn]only ^G3439 daughter ^G2364, about ^G5613 twelve ^G1427 years ^G2094 old, and she was dying ^G599. But as He went ^G5217, the crowds ^G3793 were pressing ^G4846 against ^G4846 Him.

43 And a woman ^G1135 who had ^G1722 a hemorrhage ^G4511 G129 for twelve ^G1427 years ^G2094, and could ^G2480 not be healed ^G2323 by anyone ^G3762, 44 came ^G4334 up ^G4334 behind ^G3693 Him and touched ^G681 the fringe ^G2899 of His garment ^G2440, and immediately ^G3916 her hemorrhage ^G4511 G129 stopped ^G2476. 45 And Jesus ^G2424 said ^G3004, “Who ^G5101 is the one who touched ^G681 Me?” And while they were all ^G3956 denying ^G720 it, Peter ^G4074 said ^G3004, “Master ^G1988, the crowds ^G3793 are surrounding ^G4912 and pressing ^G598 in on You.” 46 But Jesus ^G2424 said ^G3004, “Someone ^G5100 did touch ^G681 Me, for I knew ^G1097 that power ^G1411 had gone ^G1831 out ^G1831 of Me.” 47 And when the woman ^G1135 saw ^G3708 that she had not escaped ^G2990 notice ^G2990, she came ^G2064 trembling ^G5141. 49 While He was still ^G2089 speaking ^G2980, someone ^G5100 *came ^G2064 from the house of the synagogue ^G752 official ^G752, saying ^G3004, “Your daughter ^G2364 has died ^G2348; do not trouble ^G4660 the Teacher ^G1320 anymore ^G3371.” 50 But when Jesus ^G2424 heard ^G191 this, He answered ^G611 him, “Do not be ^G5399 afraid ^G5399 any longer; only ^G3440 believe ^G4100, and she will be [fn]saved ^G4982.” 51 So when He came ^G2064 to the house ^G3614, He did not allow ^G863 anyone ^G5100 to enter ^G1525 with Him, except ^G1508 Peter ^G4074 and John ^G2491 and James ^G2385, and the girl’s ^G3816 father ^G3962 and mother ^G3384. 52 Now ^G1161 they were all ^G3956 crying ^G2799 and lamenting ^G2875 for her, but He said ^G3004, “Stop ^G3361 crying ^G2799, for she has not died ^G599, but is ^G2518 asleep ^G2518.” 53 And they began laughing ^G2606 at ^G2606 Him, knowing ^G6063 that she had died ^G599. 54 He, however ^G1161, took ^G2902 her by the hand ^G5495 and called ^G5455, saying ^G3004, “Child ^G3816, arise ^G1453!” 55 And her spirit ^G4151 returned ^G1994, and she stood ^G450 up ^G450 immediately ^G3916.
