Bearing the Weaknesses of Others

1 Now ^G1161 we who are strong ^G1415 ought ^G3784 to bear ^G941 the weaknesses ^G771 of those ^G3588 without ^G102 strength ^G102 and not just please ^G700 ourselves ^G1438.

2 Each ^G1538 of us is to please ^G700 his neighbor ^G4139 [fn]for his good ^G18, to his building ^G3619 up ^G3619. 3 For even ^G2532 Christ ^G5547 did not please ^G700 Himself ^G1438; but as it is written ^G1125, “THE REPROACHES ^G3680 OF THOSE ^G3588 WHO REPROACHED ^G3679 YOU FELL ^G1968 ON ME.” 4 For whatever ^G3745 was written ^G4270 in ^G4270 earlier ^G4270 times ^G4270 was written ^G1125 for our instruction ^G1319, so ^G2443 that through ^G1223 the perseverance ^G5281 and the encouragement ^G3874 of the Scriptures ^G1124 we might have ^G2192 hope ^G1680. 5 Now ^G1161 may the God ^G2316 of perseverance ^G5281 and encouragement ^G3874 grant ^G1325 you to be of the same ^G846 mind ^G5426 with one ^G240 another ^G240 according ^G2596 to Christ ^G5547 Jesus ^G2424, 6 so ^G2443 that with one ^G3661 accord ^G3661 you may with one ^G1520 [fn]voice ^G4750 glorify ^G1392 the God ^G2316 and Father ^G3962 of our Lord ^G2962 Jesus ^G2424 Christ ^G5547.

Christ, the Hope of Jews and Gentiles

7 Therefore ^G1352, accept ^G4355 one ^G240 another ^G240, just ^G2531 as Christ ^G5547 also ^G2532 accepted ^G4355 [fn]us to the glory ^G1391 of God ^G2316.

8 For I say ^G3004 that Christ ^G5547 has become ^G1096 a servant ^G1249 to the circumcision ^G4061 on ^G5228 behalf ^G5228 of the truth ^G225 of God ^G2316 to confirm ^G950 the promises ^G1860 given to the fathers ^G3962, 9 and for the Gentiles ^G1484 to glorify ^G1392 God ^G2316 for His mercy ^G1656; as it is written ^G1125,

“THEREFORE ^G1223 G3778 I WILL [fn]GIVE ^G1843 PRAISE ^G1843 TO YOU AMONG ^G1722 THE GENTILES ^G1484,

AND I WILL SING ^G5567 TO YOUR NAME ^G3686.”

10 And again ^G3825 he says ^G3004,

“REJOICE ^G2165, O GENTILES ^G1484, WITH HIS PEOPLE ^G2992.”

11 And again ^G3825,

“PRAISE ^G134 THE [fn]LORD ^G2962 ALL ^G3956 YOU GENTILES ^G1484,

AND LET ALL ^G3956 THE PEOPLES ^G2992 PRAISE ^G1867 HIM.”

12 And again ^G3825 Isaiah ^G2268 says ^G3004,

“THERE SHALL COME ^G1510 THE ROOT ^G4491 OF JESSE ^G2421,

AND HE WHO ARISES ^G450 TO RULE ^G757 OVER THE GENTILES ^G1484,

IN HIM SHALL THE GENTILES ^G1484 HOPE ^G1679.”

13 Now ^G1161 may the God ^G2316 of hope ^G1680 fill ^G4137 you with all ^G3956 joy ^G5479 and peace ^G1515 in believing ^G4100, so ^G1519 that you will abound ^G4052 in hope ^G1680 by the power ^G1411 of the Holy ^G40 Spirit ^G4151.

30 Now ^G1161 I urge ^G3870 you, brothers ^G80, by our Lord ^G2962 Jesus ^G2424 Christ ^G5547 and by the love ^G26 of the Spirit ^G4151, to strive ^G4865 together ^G4865 with me in your prayers ^G4335 to God ^G2316 for me, 31 that I may be rescued ^G4506 from those ^G3588 who are disobedient ^G544 in Judea ^G2449, and that my service ^G1248 for Jerusalem ^G2419 may prove ^G1096 acceptable ^G2144 to the [fn]saints ^G40; 32 so ^G2443 that I may come ^G2064 to you in joy ^G5479 by the will ^G2307 of God ^G2316 and find ^G4875 rest ^G4875 in ^G4875 your company. 33 Now ^G1161 may the God ^G2316 of peace ^G1515 be with you all ^G3956.
