Yahweh Will End All Things

1 The word ^H1697 of [fn]Yahweh ^H3068 which ^H834 came ^H1961 to Zephaniah ^H6846 son ^H1121 of Cushi ^H3570, son ^H1121 of Gedaliah ^H1436, son ^H1121 of Amariah ^H568, son ^H1121 of Hezekiah ^H2396, in the days ^H3117 of Josiah ^H2977 son ^H1121 of Amon ^H526, king ^H4428 of Judah ^H3063:

2 “I will completely ^H5486 end ^H5486 all ^H3605 things

From the face ^H6440 of the ground ^H127,” declares ^H5002 Yahweh ^H3068.

3 “I will end ^H5486 man ^H120 and beast ^H929;

I will end ^H5486 the birds ^H5775 of the sky ^H8064

And the fish ^H1709 of the sea ^H3220

And the [fn]ruins ^H4384 along ^H854 with the wicked ^H7563;

And I will cut ^H3772 off ^H3772 man ^H120 from the face ^H6440 of the ground ^H127,” declares ^H5002 Yahweh ^H3068.

4 “So I will stretch ^H5186 out ^H5186 My hand ^H3027 against ^H5921 Judah ^H3063

And against ^H5921 all ^H3605 the inhabitants ^H3427 of Jerusalem ^H3389.

And I will cut ^H3772 off ^H3772 the remnant ^H7605 of Baal ^H1168 from this ^H2088 place ^H4725,

And the names ^H8034 of the idolatrous ^H3649 priests ^H3649 along ^H5973 with ^H5973 the priests ^H3548,

5 And those who worship ^H2331 on the housetops ^H1406 the host ^H6635 of heaven ^H8064,

And those who worship ^H2331 and swear ^H7650 to Yahweh ^H3068 and yet swear ^H7650 by [fn]Milcom ^H4445,

And those who ^H834 have not sought ^H1245 Yahweh ^H3068 or inquired ^H1875 of Him.”

The Day of Yahweh Is Near

7 [fn]Be silent ^H2013 before ^H4480 H6440 Lord ^H136 Yahweh ^H3068!

For the day ^H3117 of Yahweh ^H3068 is near ^H7138,

For Yahweh ^H3068 has prepared ^H3559 a sacrifice ^H2077;

He has set ^H6942 apart ^H6942 His guests ^H7121.

8 “Then it will be ^H1961 on the day ^H3117 of Yahweh’s ^H3068 sacrifice ^H2077

That I will punish ^H6485 the princes ^H8269, the king’s ^H4428 sons ^H1121,

And all ^H3605 who clothe ^H3847 themselves with foreign ^H5237 garments ^H4403.

9 “And I will punish ^H6485 on that day ^H3117 all ^H3605 who leap ^H1801 on the temple threshold ^H4670,

Who fill ^H4390 the house ^H1004 of their [fn]Lord ^H113 with violence ^H2555 and deceit ^H4820.

10 “And it will be in that day ^H3117,” declares ^H5002 Yahweh ^H3068,

“That there will be the sound ^H6963 of a cry ^H6818 from the Fish ^H1709 Gate ^H8179

And a wail ^H3215 from the [fn]Second ^H4932 Quarter

And a great ^H1419 destruction ^H7667 from the hills ^H1389.

11 “Wail ^H3213, O inhabitants ^H3427 of the [fn]Mortar ^H4389,

For all ^H3605 the [fn]people ^H5971 of Canaan ^H3667 will be silenced ^H1820;

All ^H3605 who weigh ^H5187 out silver ^H3701 will be cut ^H3772 off ^H3772.

12 “And it will be ^H1961 at that time ^H6256

That I will search ^H2664 Jerusalem ^H3389 with lamps ^H5216,

And I will punish ^H6485 the men ^H376

Who are [fn]stagnant ^H7087 in spirit ^H8105,

Who say ^H559 in their hearts ^H3824,

‘Yahweh ^H3068 will not do ^H3190 good ^H3190 or evil ^H7489!’

13 “And it will be that their wealth ^H2428 will become ^H1961 spoil ^H4933

And their houses ^H1004 desolate ^H8077;

Indeed, they will build ^H1129 houses ^H1004 but not inhabit ^H3427 them,

And plant ^H5193 vineyards ^H3754 but not drink ^H8354 their wine ^H3196.”

14 Near ^H7138 is the great ^H1419 day ^H3117 of Yahweh ^H3068,

Near ^H7138 and coming ^H4118 very ^H3966 quickly ^H4118;

O the sound ^H6963, the day ^H3117 of Yahweh ^H3068!

[fn]In it the mighty ^H1368 man ^H1368 cries ^H6873 out ^H6873 bitterly ^H4751.

15 A day ^H3117 of fury ^H5678 is that day ^H3117,

A day ^H3117 of trouble ^H6869 and distress ^H4691,

A day ^H3117 of destruction ^H7722 and desolation ^H4875,

18 Neither ^H1571 H3808 their silver ^H3701 nor ^H1571 their gold ^H2091

Will be ^H3201 able ^H3201 to deliver ^H5337 them

On the day ^H3117 of the fury ^H5678 of Yahweh ^H3068;

And all ^H3605 the earth ^H776 will be devoured ^H398

In the fire ^H784 of His jealousy ^H7068,

For He will make ^H6213 a complete ^H3617 destruction ^H3617,

Indeed ^H389 a terrifying ^H926 one,
