Paul Opposes Peter (Cephas)

11 But when ^G3753 Cephas ^G2786 came ^G2064 to Antioch ^G490, I opposed ^G436 him to his face ^G4383, because ^G3754 he [fn]stood condemned ^G2607.

15 “We are Jews ^G2453 by nature ^G5449 and not sinners ^G268 from among ^G1537 the Gentiles ^G1484; 16 nevertheless ^G1161 [fn]knowing ^G6063 that a man ^G444 is not justified ^G1344 by the works ^G2041 of the Law ^G3551 but through ^G1223 faith ^G4102 in Jesus ^G2424 Christ ^G5547, even ^G2532 we have believed ^G4100 in Christ ^G5547 Jesus ^G2424, so ^G2443 that we may be justified ^G1344 by faith ^G4102 in Christ ^G5547 and not by the works ^G2041 of the Law ^G3551; since ^G3754 by the works ^G2041 of [fn]the Law ^G3551 no ^G3756 G3956 [fn]flesh ^G4561 will be justified ^G1344. 17 But if ^G1487, while seeking ^G2212 to be justified ^G1344 in Christ ^G5547, we ourselves ^G846 have also ^G2532 been found ^G2147 sinners ^G268, is Christ ^G5547 then ^G687 a minister ^G1249 of sin ^G266? May it never ^G3361 be! 18 For if ^G1487 I rebuild ^G3618 what ^G3739 I have once destroyed ^G2647, I prove ^G4921 myself ^G1683 to be a transgressor ^G3848. 19 For through ^G1223 [fn]the Law ^G3551 I died ^G599 to [fn]the Law ^G3551, so ^G2443 that I might live ^G2198 to God ^G2316. 20 I have been crucified ^G4957 with Christ ^G5547, and it is no ^G3765 longer ^G3765 I who live ^G2198, but Christ ^G5547 lives ^G2198 in me. And the life which ^G3739 I now ^G3568 live ^G2198 in the flesh ^G4561 I live ^G2198 by faith ^G4102 in the Son ^G5207 of God ^G2316, who loved ^G25 me and gave ^G3860 Himself ^G1438 up ^G3860 for me. 21 I do not set ^G114 aside ^G114 the grace ^G5485 of God ^G2316, for if ^G1487 righteousness ^G1343 comes through ^G1223 [fn]the Law ^G3551, then ^G686 Christ ^G5547 died ^G599 needlessly ^G1432.”
