Give the King Your Judgments

Unchecked Copy BoxPsa 72:1 -

Of Solomon.

O God, give the king Your judgments,

And Your righteousness to the king’s son.

Unchecked Copy BoxPsa 72:2 -

[fn]May [fn]he render judgment to Your people with righteousness

And Your [fn]afflicted with justice.

Unchecked Copy BoxPsa 72:3 -

Let the mountains lift up [fn]peace to the people,

And the hills, in righteousness.

Unchecked Copy BoxPsa 72:4 -

[fn]May he give justice to the [fn]afflicted of the people,

Save the children of the needy,

And crush the oppressor.

Unchecked Copy BoxPsa 72:5 -

[fn]Let them fear You while the sun endures,

And [fn]as long as the moon, from generation to all generations.

Unchecked Copy BoxPsa 72:6 -

[fn]May he come down like rain upon the mown grass,

Like showers that water the earth.

Unchecked Copy BoxPsa 72:7 -

[fn]May the righteous flourish in his days,

And abundance of peace until the moon is no more.

Unchecked Copy BoxPsa 72:8 -

May he also have dominion from sea to sea

And from the River to the ends of the earth.

Unchecked Copy BoxPsa 72:9 -

[fn]Let the desert creatures kneel before him,

And his enemies lick the dust.

Unchecked Copy BoxPsa 72:10 -

[fn]Let the kings of Tarshish and of the coastlands bring a present;

The kings of Sheba and Seba offer tribute.

Unchecked Copy BoxPsa 72:11 -

[fn]And let all kings bow down to him,

All nations serve him.

Unchecked Copy BoxPsa 72:12 -

For he will deliver the needy when he cries for help,

The [fn]afflicted also, and him who has no helper.

Unchecked Copy BoxPsa 72:13 -

He will have compassion on the poor and needy,

And the [fn]lives of the needy he will save.

Unchecked Copy BoxPsa 72:14 -

He will redeem their [fn]life from oppression and violence,

And their blood will be precious in his sight;

Unchecked Copy BoxPsa 72:15 -

So may he live! And may they give to him the gold of Sheba;

And let each pray for him continually;

Let each bless him all day long.

Unchecked Copy BoxPsa 72:16 -

May there be abundance of grain in the earth on top of the mountains;

May its fruit wave like the cedars of Lebanon;

And may those from the city blossom like vegetation of the earth.

Unchecked Copy BoxPsa 72:17 -

May his name endure forever;

May his name [fn]increase [fn]as long as the sun shines;

Let all nations [fn]be blessed in him;

Let all nations call him blessed.

Unchecked Copy BoxPsa 72:18 -

Blessed be Yahweh God, the God of Israel,

Who alone works wondrous deeds.

Unchecked Copy BoxPsa 72:19 -
