Asa Succeeds Abijah in Judah

1 [fn]So Abijah ^H29 [fn]lay ^H7901 down ^H7901 with his fathers ^H1, and they buried ^H6912 him in the city ^H5892 of David ^H1732, and his son ^H1121 Asa ^H609 became ^H4427 king ^H4427 in ^H8478 his place ^H8478. The land ^H776 was ^H8252 undisturbed ^H8252 for ten ^H6235 years ^H8141 during his days ^H3117.

2 [fn]And Asa ^H609 did ^H6213 what was good ^H2896 and right ^H3477 in the sight ^H5869 of the LORD ^H3068 his God ^H430,

And they carried ^H5375 away a very ^H3966 large ^H7235 amount of plunder ^H7998. 14 They [fn]destroyed ^H5221 all ^H3605 the cities ^H5892 around ^H5439 Gerar ^H1642, for the dread ^H6343 of the LORD ^H3068 had fallen ^H1961 on them; and they pillaged ^H962 all ^H3605 the cities ^H5892, for there was much ^H7227 plunder ^H961 in them. 15 They also ^H1571 fatally ^H5221 struck ^H5221 [fn]those who owned ^H168 livestock ^H4735, and they led ^H7617 away ^H7617 large ^H7230 numbers ^H7230 of sheep ^H6629 and camels ^H1581. Then they returned ^H7725 to Jerusalem ^H3389.
