The Last Plague
1 Now the LORD H3068 said H559 to Moses H4872, “One H259 more H5750 plague H5061 I will bring H935 on Pharaoh H6547 and on Egypt H4714; after H310 that he will let H7971 you go H7971 from here H2088. When he lets H7971 you go H7971, he will assuredly H1644 drive H1644 you out H1644 from here H2088 completely H3605.
2 Speak H1696 now H4994 [fn]so that the people H5971 hear H241, that each H376 man H376 is to ask H7592 of his neighbor H7453, and each H802 woman H802 of her neighbor H7468, articles H3627 of silver H3701 and articles H3627 of gold H2091.” 3 And the LORD H3068 gave H5414 the people H5971 favor H2580 in the sight H5869 of the Egyptians H4714. Furthermore H1571, the man H376 Moses H4872 himself was [fn]greatly H3966 esteemed in the land H776 of Egypt H4714, both in the sight H5869 of Pharaoh’s H6547 servants H5650 and in the sight H5869 of the people H5971.
4 Then Moses H4872 said H559, “This H3541 is H3541 what H3541 the LORD H3068 says H559: ‘About midnight H2676 H3915 I am going H3318 out H3318 into the midst H8432 of Egypt H4714, 5 and all H3605 the firstborn H1060 in the land H776 of Egypt H4714 shall die H4191, from the firstborn H1060 of the Pharaoh H6547 who sits H3427 on his throne H3678, to the firstborn H1060 of the slave H8198 girl H8198 who H834 is behind H310 the millstones H7347; all H3605 the firstborn H1060 of the cattle H929 as well. 6 So there shall be a great H1419 cry H6818 in all H3605 the land H776 of Egypt H4714, such H834 as there has not been H1961 before and such H3644 as shall never H3808 be again H3254. 7 But not even a dog H3611 will [fn]threaten H2782 H3956 any H3605 of the sons H1121 of Israel H3478, nor anything from person H376 to animal H929, so H4616 that H4616 you may [fn]learn H3045 how H834 the LORD H3068 distinguishes H6395 between H996 Egypt H4714 and Israel H3478.’ 8 And all H3605 these H428 servants H5650 of yours will come H3381 down H3381 to me and bow H2331 themselves [fn]before me, saying H559, ‘Go H3318 out H3318, you and all H3605 the people H5971 who H834 [fn]follow H7272 you,’ and after H310 that I will go H3318 out H3318.” And he left H3318 H4480 Pharaoh H6547 in the heat H2750 of anger H639.
9 Then the LORD H3068 said H559 to Moses H4872, “Pharaoh H6547 will not listen H8085 to you, so H4616 that My wonders H4159 will be multiplied H7235 in the land H776 of Egypt H4714.” 10 So Moses H4872 and Aaron H175 performed H6213 all H3605 these H428 wonders H4159 before H6440 Pharaoh H6547; yet the LORD H3068 [fn]hardened H2388 Pharaoh’s H6547 heart H3820, and he did not let H7971 the sons H1121 of Israel H3478 go H7971 out H7971 of his land H776.
