The Tabernacle Underwritten
1 “Now Bezalel H1212, Oholiab H171, and every H3605 [fn]skillful H2450 H3820 person H376 in whom H834 the LORD H3068 has put H5414 [fn]skill H2451 and understanding H8394 to know H3045 how to perform H6213 all H3605 the work H4399 [fn]in the construction H5656 of the sanctuary H6944, shall perform H6213 in accordance with everything H3605 that the LORD H3068 has commanded H6680.”
2 Then Moses H4872 called H7121 Bezalel H1212, Oholiab H171, and every H3605 [fn]skillful H2450 H3820 person H376 in [fn]whom H834 the LORD H3068 had put H5414 [fn]skill H2451, everyone H3605 whose H834 heart H3820 stirred H5375 him, to come H7126 to the work H4399 to perform H6213 it.
3 They received H3947 from Moses H4872 every H3605 [fn]contribution H8641 which H834 the sons H1121 of Israel H3478 had brought H935 to perform H6213 [fn]the work H4399 [fn]in the construction H5656 of the sanctuary H6944. And they still H5750 continued bringing H935 to him [fn]voluntary H5071 offerings H5071 every H1242 morning H1242. 4 And all H3605 the [fn]skillful H2450 people H2450 who were performing H6213 all H3605 the work H4399 of the sanctuary H6944 came H935, each H376 from [fn]the work H4399 which H834 they were performing H6213, 5 and they said H559 to [fn]Moses H4872, “The people H5971 are bringing H935 much H7235 more H7235 than H4480 enough H1767 for the [fn]construction H5656 work H5656 which H834 the LORD H3068 commanded H6680 us to [fn]perform H6213.” 6 So Moses H4872 issued H6680 a H6680 command H6680, and circulated H5674 a [fn]proclamation H6963 throughout the camp H4264, saying H559, “No H408 man H376 or woman H802 is to perform H6213 work H4399 any H5750 longer H5750 for the [fn]contributions H8641 of the sanctuary H6944.” So the people H5971 were restrained H3607 from bringing H935 any more. 7 For the [fn]material H4399 they had H1961 was sufficient H1767 and more H3498 than H3498 enough H3498 for all H3605 the work H4399, to perform H6213 it.
Construction Begins
8 All H3605 the [fn]skillful H2450 H3820 people H2450 among those who were performing H6213 the work H4399 made H6213 the [fn]tabernacle H4908 with ten H6235 curtains H3407; of fine H8336 twisted H7806 linen H8336 and [fn]violet H8504, purple H713, and scarlet H8144 material, with cherubim H3742, the work H4639 of a skilled H2803 embroiderer H2803, [fn]Bezalel made H6213 them.
9 The length H753 of each H259 curtain H3407 was [fn]twenty-eight H6242 H8083 cubits H520, and the width H7341 of each H259 curtain H3407 four H702 cubits H520; all H3605 the curtains H3407 had [fn]the same H259 measurements H4060. 10 He [fn]joined H2266 five H2568 curtains H3407 to one H259 another H259, and the other five H2568 curtains H3407 he [fn]joined H2266 to one H259 another H259. 11 And he made H6213 loops H3924 of violet H8504 on the edge H8193 of the [fn]outermost H7098 curtain H3407 in the first H259 [fn]set H4225; he did H6213 likewise H3651 on the edge H8193 of the curtain H3407 that was [fn]outermost H7020 in the second H8145 [fn]set H4225. 12 He made H6213 fifty H2572 loops H3924 in the one H259 curtain H3407, and he made H6213 fifty H2572 loops H3924 on the [fn]edge H7097 of the curtain H3407 that was in the second H8145 [fn]set H4225; the loops H3924 were opposite H6901 each H259 other H259. 13 He also made H6213 fifty H2572 clasps H7165 of gold H2091, and [fn]joined H2266 the curtains H3407 to one H259 another H259 with the clasps H7165, so that the tabernacle H4908 was [fn]a unit H259.
14 Then he made H6213 curtains H3407 of goats’ H5795 hair for a tent H168 over H5921 the tabernacle H4908; he [fn]made H6213 eleven H6249 H6240 curtains H3407 in all. 15 The length H753 of each H259 curtain H3407 was thirty H7970 cubits H520, and four H702 cubits H520 was the width H7341 of each H259 curtain H3407; the eleven H6249 H6240 curtains H3407 had [fn]the same H259 measurements H4060. 16 He [fn]joined H2266 five H2568 curtains H3407 by H905 themselves H905, and the other six H8337 curtains H3407 by H905 themselves H905. 17 Moreover, he made H6213 fifty H2572 loops H3924 on the edge H8193 of the curtain H3407 that was outermost H7020 in the first [fn]set H4225, and he made H6213 fifty H2572 loops H3924 on the edge H8193 of the curtain H3407 that was outermost in the second H8145 [fn]set H2279. 18 He also made H6213 fifty H2572 clasps H7165 of [fn]bronze H5178 to [fn]join H2266 the tent H168 together H2266 so that it would be [fn]a unit H259. 19 And he made H6213 a covering H4372 for the tent H168 of rams’ H352 skins H5785 [fn]dyed H119 red H119, and a covering H4372 of [fn]fine H8476 leather H5785 above H4480 H4605.
20 Then he made H6213 the boards H7175 for the tabernacle H4908 of acacia H7848 wood H6086, standing H5975 upright H5975. 21 Ten H6235 cubits H520 was the length H753 of [fn]each board H7175, and one and a half H2677 cubits H520 the width H7341 of each H259 board H7175. 22 There were two H8147 tenons H3027 for each H259 board H7175, [fn]fitted H7947 to one H259 another H259; he did H6213 this H3651 to all H3605 the boards H7175 of the tabernacle H4908. 23 So he made H6213 the boards H7175 for the tabernacle H4908: twenty H6242 boards H7175 [fn]for the south H5045 H8486 side H6285; 24 and he made H6213 forty H705 bases H134 of silver H3701 under H8478 the twenty H6242 boards H7175; two H8147 bases H134 under H8478 one H259 board H7175 for its two H8147 tenons H3027, and two H8147 bases H134 under H8478 another H259 board H7175 for its two H8147 tenons H3027. 25 Then for the second H8145 side H6763 of the tabernacle H4908, on the north H6828 side H6285, he made H6213 twenty H6242 boards H7175, 26 and their forty H705 bases H134 of silver H3701; two H8147 bases H134 under H8478 one H259 board H7175, and two H8147 bases H134 under H8478 another H259 board H7175. 27 And for the [fn]back H3411 of the tabernacle H4908, to the west H3220, he made H6213 six H8337 boards H7175. 28 He made H6213 two H8147 boards H7175 for the corners H4740 of the [fn]tabernacle H4908 at the [fn]back H3411. 29 They were double H8382 beneath H4295, and together H3162 they were complete H8535 to its [fn]top H7218, [fn]to the first H259 ring H2885; he did H6213 this H3651 with both H8147 of them for the two H8147 corners H4740. 30 There were eight H8083 boards H7175 with their bases H134 of silver H3701, sixteen H8337 H6240 bases H134, two H8147 bases H134 under H8478 every H259 board H7175.
31 Then he made H6213 bars H1280 of acacia H7848 wood H6086, five H2568 for the boards H7175 of one H259 side H6763 of the tabernacle H4908, 32 and five H2568 bars H1280 for the boards H7175 of the [fn]other H8145 side H6763 of the tabernacle H4908, and five H2568 bars H1280 for the boards H7175 of the tabernacle H4908 for the [fn]back H3411 side to the west H3220. 33 And he made H6213 the middle H8484 bar H1280 to pass H1272 through H1272 in the [fn]center H8432 of the boards H7175 from end H7097 to end H7097. 34 Then he overlaid H6823 the boards H7175 with gold H2091, and made H6213 their rings H2885 of gold H2091 as holders H1004 for the bars H1280, and overlaid H6823 the bars H1280 with gold H2091.
35 Moreover, he made H6213 the veil H6532 of violet H8504, purple H713, and scarlet H8144 material, and fine H8336 twisted H7806 linen H8336; he made H6213 it with cherubim H3742, the work H4639 of a skilled H2803 embroiderer H2803. 36 And he made H6213 four H702 pillars H5982 of acacia H7848 for it, and overlaid H6823 them with gold H2091, with their hooks H2053 of gold H2091; and he cast H3332 four H702 bases H134 of silver H3701 for them. 37 He also made H6213 a curtain H4539 for the doorway H6607 of the tent H168, of violet H8504, purple H713, and scarlet H8144 material, and fine H8336 twisted H7806 linen H8336, the work H4639 of a [fn]weaver H7551; 38 and he made its five H2568 pillars H5982 with their hooks H2053, and he overlaid H6823 their tops H7218 and their [fn]bands H2838 with gold H2091; but their five H2568 bases H134 were of [fn]bronze H5178.
