Egyptian Livestock Die

1 Then the LORD ^H3068 said ^H559 to Moses ^H4872, “Go ^H935 to Pharaoh ^H6547 and speak ^H1696 to him, ‘This ^H3541 is ^H3541 what ^H3541 the LORD ^H3068, the God ^H430 of the Hebrews ^H5680 says ^H559: “Let ^H7971 My people ^H5971 go ^H7971, so that they may serve ^H5647 Me.

2 For if ^H518 you refuse ^H3986 to let ^H7971 them go ^H7971 and [fn]continue ^H5750 to hold ^H2388 them, 3 behold ^H2009, the hand ^H3027 of the LORD ^H3068 [fn]will come ^H1961 with a very ^H3966 severe ^H3515 plague ^H1698 on your livestock ^H4735 which ^H834 are in the field ^H7704, on the horses ^H5483, on the donkeys ^H2543, on the camels ^H1581, on the herds ^H1241, and on the flocks ^H6629. 4 But the LORD ^H3068 will make ^H6395 a ^H6395 distinction ^H6395 between ^H996 the livestock ^H4735 of Israel ^H3478 and the livestock ^H4735 of Egypt ^H4714, so that nothing ^H3808 H1697 will die ^H4191 of all ^H3605 that belongs to the sons ^H1121 of Israel ^H3478.”’” 5 And the LORD ^H3068 set ^H7760 a definite ^H4150 time ^H4150, saying ^H559, “Tomorrow ^H4279 the LORD ^H3068 will do ^H6213 this ^H2088 thing ^H1697 in the land ^H776.” 6 So the LORD ^H3068 did ^H6213 this ^H2088 thing ^H1697 on the next ^H4283 day ^H4283, and all ^H3605 the livestock ^H4735 of Egypt ^H4714 died ^H4191; but not one ^H259 of the livestock ^H4735 of the sons ^H1121 of Israel ^H3478 died ^H4191. 7 And Pharaoh ^H6547 sent ^H7971 men, and they learned that, behold ^H2009, not even ^H5704 one ^H259 of the livestock ^H4735 of Israel ^H3478 was dead ^H4191. But the heart ^H3820 of Pharaoh ^H6547 was [fn]hardened ^H3513, and he did not let ^H7971 the people ^H5971 go ^H7971.

The Plague of Boils

8 Then the LORD ^H3068 said ^H559 to Moses ^H4872 and Aaron ^H175, “Take ^H3947 for yourselves handfuls ^H4393 H2651 of soot ^H6368 from a kiln ^H3536, and Moses ^H4872 shall toss ^H2236 it toward the sky ^H8064 in the sight ^H5869 of Pharaoh ^H6547.

9 Then it will become ^H1961 fine dust ^H80 over ^H5921 all ^H3605 the land ^H776 of Egypt ^H4714, and will turn ^H1961 into boils ^H7822 breaking ^H6524 out ^H6524 with sores ^H76 on every person ^H120 and animal ^H929 through all ^H3605 the land ^H776 of Egypt ^H4714.” 10 So they took ^H3947 soot ^H6368 from a kiln ^H3536, and stood ^H5975 before ^H6440 Pharaoh ^H6547; and Moses ^H4872 tossed ^H2236 it toward the sky ^H8064, and it became ^H1961 boils ^H7822 breaking ^H6524 out ^H6524 with sores ^H76 on every person ^H120 and animal ^H929. 11 The soothsayer ^H2748 priests ^H2748 could ^H3201 not stand ^H5975 before ^H6440 Moses ^H4872 because ^H4480 H6440 of the boils ^H7822, for the boils ^H7822 were on the soothsayer ^H2748 priests ^H2748 as well as on all ^H3605 the Egyptians ^H4714. 12 But the LORD ^H3068 [fn]hardened ^H2388 Pharaoh’s ^H6547 heart ^H3820, and he did not listen ^H8085 to them, just ^H834 as ^H834 the LORD ^H3068 had spoken ^H1696 to Moses ^H4872.

13 Then the LORD ^H3068 said ^H559 to Moses ^H4872, “Rise ^H7925 up ^H7925 early ^H7925 in the morning ^H1242 and stand ^H3320 before ^H6440 Pharaoh ^H6547 and say ^H559 to him, ‘This ^H3541 is ^H3541 what ^H3541 the LORD ^H3068, the God ^H430 of the Hebrews ^H5680 says ^H559: “Let ^H7971 My people ^H5971 go ^H7971, so that they may serve ^H5647 Me. 14 For this ^H2088 time ^H6471 I am going to send ^H7971 all ^H3605 My plagues ^H4046 [fn]on you and your servants ^H5650 and your people ^H5971, so ^H5668 that ^H5668 you may know ^H3045 that there ^H369 is ^H369 no ^H369 one ^H369 like ^H3644 Me in all ^H3605 the earth ^H776. 15 For had I now ^H6258 put ^H7971 out ^H7971 My hand ^H3027 and struck ^H5221 you and your people ^H5971 with plague ^H1698, you would then have been eliminated ^H3582 from the earth ^H776. 16 But indeed ^H199, for this ^H2088 reason ^H5668 I have allowed you to [fn]remain ^H5975, in order ^H5668 to show ^H7200 you My power ^H3581 and in ^H4616 order ^H4616 to ^H4616 proclaim ^H5608 My name ^H8034 throughout ^H3605 the earth ^H776. 17 Still ^H5750 you exalt ^H5549 yourself against My people ^H5971 [fn]by not letting ^H7971 them go ^H7971.

The Plague of Hail

18 Behold ^H2009, about this time ^H6256 tomorrow ^H4279, I will [fn]send ^H4305 a very ^H3966 heavy ^H3515 hail ^H1259, such ^H834 as has not been ^H1961 seen in Egypt ^H4714 from the day ^H3117 it was founded ^H3245 [fn]until ^H5704 now ^H6258. 19 So now ^H6258, send ^H7971 word, bring ^H5756 your livestock ^H4735 and whatever ^H3605 H834 you have in the field ^H7704 to ^H5756 safety ^H5756. Every ^H3605 person ^H120 and animal ^H929 that is found ^H4672 in the field ^H7704 and is not brought ^H622 home ^H1004, when the hail ^H1259 comes ^H3381 down ^H3381 on them, will die ^H4191.”’” 20 Everyone among ^H4480 the servants ^H5650 of Pharaoh ^H6547 who [fn]feared ^H3372 the word ^H1697 of the LORD ^H3068 hurried ^H5127 to ^H5127 bring ^H5127 his servants ^H5650 and his livestock ^H4735 into ^H413 the houses ^H1004; 21 but everyone who ^H834 [fn]did not pay ^H7760 regard ^H3820 to the word ^H1697 of the LORD ^H3068 [fn]left ^H5800 his servants ^H5650 and his livestock ^H4735 in the field ^H7704.

22 Now the LORD ^H3068 said ^H559 to Moses ^H4872, “Reach ^H5186 out ^H5186 with your hand ^H3027 toward ^H5921 the sky ^H8064, so that [fn]hail ^H1259 may fall ^H1961 on all ^H3605 the land ^H776 of Egypt ^H4714, on every person ^H120 and animal ^H929, and on every ^H3605 plant ^H6212 of the field ^H7704, throughout the land ^H776 of Egypt ^H4714.” 23 So Moses ^H4872 reached ^H5186 out ^H5186 with his staff ^H4294 toward ^H5921 the sky ^H8064, and the LORD ^H3068 [fn]sent ^H5414 [fn]thunder ^H6963 and hail ^H1259, and fire ^H784 ran ^H1980 down to the earth ^H776. And the LORD ^H3068 rained ^H4305 hail ^H1259 on the land ^H776 of Egypt ^H4714. 24 So there was hail ^H1259, and fire ^H784 flashing ^H3947 intermittently ^H3947 in the midst ^H8432 of the hail ^H1259, which was very ^H3966 heavy ^H3515, such ^H834 as had not occurred ^H1961 in all ^H3605 the land ^H776 of Egypt ^H4714 since ^H227 it became ^H1961 a nation ^H1471. 25 The hail ^H1259 struck ^H5221 everything ^H3605 that was in the field ^H7704 through all ^H3605 the land ^H776 of Egypt ^H4714, from people ^H120 to animals ^H929; the hail ^H1259 also struck ^H5221 every ^H3605 plant ^H6212 of the field ^H7704, and shattered ^H7665 every ^H3605 tree ^H6086 of the field ^H7704. 26 Only ^H7534 in the land ^H776 of Goshen ^H1657, where ^H834 H8033 the sons ^H1121 of Israel ^H3478 were, was there no ^H3808 hail ^H1259.

27 Then Pharaoh ^H6547 [fn]sent ^H7971 for Moses ^H4872 and Aaron ^H175, and said ^H559 to them, “I have sinned ^H2398 this ^H6471 time ^H6471; the LORD ^H3068 is the righteous ^H6662 one ^H6662, and I and my people ^H5971 are the wicked ^H7563 ones ^H7563. 28 Plead ^H6279 with the LORD ^H3068, for there has been enough ^H7227 of God’s ^H430 [fn]thunder ^H6963 and hail ^H1259; and I will let ^H7971 you go ^H7971, and you shall stay ^H5975 no ^H3808 longer ^H3254.” 29 Moses ^H4872 said ^H559 to him, “As soon as I go ^H3318 out ^H3318 of the city ^H5892, I will spread ^H6566 out ^H6566 my [fn]hands ^H3709 to the LORD ^H3068; the [fn]thunder ^H6963 will cease ^H2308 and there will no ^H3808 longer ^H5750 be hail ^H1259, so ^H4616 that ^H4616 you may know ^H3045 that the earth ^H776 is the LORD’S ^H3068. 30 But as for you and your servants ^H5650, I know ^H3045 that you do not yet ^H2962 [fn]fear ^H3372 [fn]the LORD ^H3068 God ^H430.” 31 (Now the flax ^H6594 and the barley ^H8184 were [fn]ruined ^H5221, for the barley ^H8184 was in the ear ^H24 and the flax ^H6594 was in bud ^H1392. 32 But the wheat ^H2406 and the spelt ^H3698 were not [fn]ruined ^H5221, for they ripen late ^H648.) 33 So Moses ^H4872 left ^H3318 the city ^H5892 from his meeting with Pharaoh ^H6547, and spread ^H6566 out ^H6566 his [fn]hands ^H3709 to the LORD ^H3068; and the [fn]thunder ^H6963 and the hail ^H1259 stopped ^H2308, and rain ^H4306 [fn]no ^H3808 longer poured ^H5413 on the earth ^H776. 34 But when Pharaoh ^H6547 saw ^H7200 that the rain ^H4306 and the hail ^H1259 and the [fn]thunder ^H6963 had stopped ^H2308, he sinned ^H2398 again ^H3254 and [fn]hardened ^H3513 his heart ^H3820, he and his servants ^H5650. 35 So Pharaoh’s ^H6547 heart ^H3820 was [fn]hardened ^H2388, and he did not let ^H7971 the sons ^H1121 of Israel ^H3478 go ^H7971, just ^H834 as ^H834 the LORD ^H3068 had spoken ^H1696 through ^H3027 Moses ^H4872.
