Pharaoh Warned of Assyria’s Fate

1 In the eleventh ^H259 H6240 year ^H8141, in the third ^H7992 month, on the first ^H259 of the month ^H2320, the word ^H1697 of the LORD ^H3068 came ^H1961 to me, saying ^H559,

2 “Son ^H1121 of man ^H120, say ^H559 to Pharaoh ^H6547 king ^H4428 of Egypt ^H4714 and to his hordes ^H1995,

‘Whom ^H413 H4310 are ^H1819 you like ^H1819 in your greatness ^H1433?

3 ‘Behold ^H2009, Assyria ^H804 was a cedar ^H730 in Lebanon ^H3844

With beautiful ^H3303 branches ^H6057 and forest ^H2793 shade ^H6751,

And [fn]very ^H1364 high ^H6967,

And its top ^H6788 was among ^H996 the [fn]clouds ^H5645.

4 ‘The waters ^H4325 made it grow ^H1431, the [fn]deep ^H8415 made ^H7311 it high ^H7311.

With its rivers ^H5104 it continually [fn]extended ^H1980 all ^H5439 around ^H5439 its planting ^H4302 place ^H4302,

And sent ^H7971 out ^H7971 its channels ^H8585 to all ^H3605 the trees ^H6086 of the field ^H7704.

5 ‘Therefore ^H5921 H3651 its height ^H6967 was ^H1361 loftier ^H1361 than ^H4480 all ^H3605 the trees ^H6086 of the field ^H7704

And its boughs ^H5634 became ^H7235 many ^H7235 and its branches ^H6288 long ^H748

6 ‘All ^H3605 the birds ^H5775 of the sky ^H8064 nested ^H7077 in its twigs ^H5589,

And under ^H8478 its branches ^H6288 all ^H3605 the animals ^H2416 of the field ^H7704 gave ^H3205 birth ^H3205,

And all ^H3605 great ^H7227 nations ^H1471 lived ^H3427 under its shade ^H6738.

7 ‘So it was ^H3302 beautiful ^H3302 in its greatness ^H1433, in the length ^H753 of its branches ^H1808;

For its [fn]roots ^H8328 extended ^H1961 to many ^H7227 waters ^H4325.

8 ‘The cedars ^H730 in God’s ^H430 garden ^H1588 [fn]could not match ^H6004 it;

The junipers ^H1265 [fn]could not compare ^H1819 with its branches ^H5589,

And the plane ^H6196 trees ^H6196 [fn]could not match its branches ^H6288.

No ^H3605 H3808 tree ^H6086 in God’s ^H430 garden ^H1588 [fn]could compare ^H1819 with it in its beauty ^H3308.

9 ‘I made ^H6213 it beautiful ^H3303 with the multitude ^H7230 of its branches ^H1808,

And all ^H3605 the trees ^H6086 of Eden ^H5731, which ^H834 were in the garden ^H1588 of God ^H430, were ^H7065 jealous ^H7065 of it.

10 ‘Therefore ^H3651 this ^H3541 is ^H3541 what ^H3541 the Lord ^H136 [fn]GOD ^H3068 says ^H559: “Because ^H3282 H834 [fn]it is ^H1361 tall ^H1361 in stature ^H6967 and has put ^H5414 its top ^H6788 among ^H996 the [fn]clouds ^H5645, and its heart ^H3824 is ^H7311 haughty ^H7311 in its loftiness ^H1363, 11 I will hand ^H5414 H3027 it over ^H5414 to a [fn]ruler ^H352 of the nations ^H1471; he will thoroughly ^H6213 deal ^H6213 with it. 18 “To which ^H4310 among the trees ^H6086 of Eden ^H5731 are ^H1819 you so ^H3602 alike ^H1819 in glory ^H3519 and greatness ^H1433? Yet you will be brought ^H3381 down ^H3381 with the trees ^H6086 of Eden ^H5731 to the earth ^H776 beneath ^H8482; you will lie ^H7901 in the midst ^H8432 of the uncircumcised ^H6189 with those who were killed ^H2491 by the sword ^H2719. This ^H1931 is Pharaoh ^H6547 and all ^H3605 his hordes ^H1995!”’ declares ^H5002 the Lord ^H136 GOD ^H3068.”
