Vision of Abominations in Jerusalem

1 Now it came ^H1961 about ^H1961 in the sixth ^H8345 year ^H8141, on the fifth ^H2568 day of the sixth ^H8345 month ^H2320, as I was sitting ^H3427 in my house ^H1004 with the elders ^H2205 of Judah ^H3063 sitting ^H3427 before ^H6440 me, that the hand ^H3027 of the Lord ^H136 [fn]GOD ^H3068 fell ^H5307 upon me there ^H8033.

2 Then I looked ^H7200, and behold ^H2009, something ^H1823 like ^H1823 the appearance ^H4758 of [fn]a man ^H376; from His waist ^H4975 and downward ^H4295 there was the appearance ^H4758 of fire ^H784, and from His waist ^H4975 and upward ^H4605 like the appearance ^H4758 of a glow ^H2096, like gleaming ^H5869 [fn]metal ^H2830. 3 And He extended ^H7971 the form ^H8403 of a hand ^H3027 and took ^H3947 me by the hair ^H6734 of my head ^H7218; and the Spirit ^H7307 lifted ^H5375 me up ^H5375 between ^H996 earth ^H776 and heaven ^H8064 and brought ^H935 me in the visions ^H4759 of God ^H430 to Jerusalem ^H3389, to the entrance ^H6607 of the [fn]north ^H6828 gate ^H8179 of the inner ^H6442 courtyard, where ^H834 H8033 the seat ^H4186 of the idol ^H5566 of jealousy ^H7068, which ^H834 provokes ^H7065 to ^H7065 jealousy ^H7065, was located. 4 And behold ^H2009, the glory ^H3519 of the God ^H430 of Israel ^H3478 was there ^H8033, like the appearance ^H4758 which ^H834 I saw ^H7200 in the plain ^H1237.

5 Then He said ^H559 to me, “Son ^H1121 of man ^H120, raise ^H5375 your eyes ^H5869 now ^H4994 toward ^H1870 the north ^H6828.” So I raised ^H5375 my eyes ^H5869 toward ^H1870 the north ^H6828, and behold ^H2009, to the north ^H6828 of the altar ^H4196 gate ^H8179 was this ^H2088 idol ^H5566 of jealousy ^H7068 at the entrance ^H872. 6 And He said ^H559 to me, “Son ^H1121 of man ^H120, do you see ^H7200 what ^H4100 they are doing ^H6213, the great ^H1419 abominations ^H8441 which ^H834 the house ^H1004 of Israel ^H3478 are committing ^H6213 here ^H6311, so that I would be ^H7368 far ^H7368 from My sanctuary ^H4720? But yet ^H5750 you will see ^H7200 still ^H7725 greater ^H1419 abominations ^H8441!”

7 Then He brought ^H935 me to the entrance ^H6607 of the courtyard ^H2691, and when I looked ^H7200, behold ^H2009, a hole ^H2356 in the wall ^H7023. 8 And He said ^H559 to me, “Son ^H1121 of man ^H120, now ^H4994 dig ^H2864 through the wall ^H7023.” So I dug ^H2864 through the wall ^H7023, and behold ^H2009, an entrance ^H6607. 9 Then He said ^H559 to me, “Go ^H935 in ^H935 and see ^H7200 the wicked ^H7451 abominations ^H8441 that they are committing ^H6213 here ^H6311.” 10 So I entered ^H935 and looked ^H7200, and behold ^H2009, every ^H3605 form ^H8403 of crawling ^H7431 things ^H7431 and animals ^H929 and detestable ^H8263 things ^H8263, with all ^H3605 the idols ^H1544 of the house ^H1004 of Israel ^H3478, were carved ^H2707 on the wall ^H7023 all ^H5439 around ^H5439. 11 And standing ^H5975 in front ^H6440 of them were seventy ^H7657 elders ^H2205 of the house ^H1004 of Israel ^H3478, with Jaazaniah ^H2970 the son ^H1121 of Shaphan ^H8227 standing ^H5975 among ^H8432 them, each ^H376 man ^H376 with his censer ^H4730 in his hand ^H3027; and the fragrance ^H6282 of the cloud ^H6051 of incense ^H7004 was rising ^H5927. 12 Then He said ^H559 to me, “Do you see ^H7200, son ^H1121 of man ^H120, what ^H834 the elders ^H2205 of the house ^H1004 of Israel ^H3478 are doing ^H6213 in the dark ^H2822, each ^H376 man ^H376 in the rooms ^H2315 of his carved ^H4906 images ^H4906? For they say ^H559, ‘The LORD ^H3068 does not see ^H7200 us; the LORD ^H3068 has abandoned ^H5800 the land ^H776.’” 13 And He said ^H559 to me, “Yet ^H5750 you will see ^H7200 still ^H7725 greater ^H1419 abominations ^H8441 which ^H834 they are committing ^H6213!”

14 Then He brought ^H935 me to the entrance ^H6607 of the gate ^H8179 of the LORD’S ^H3068 house ^H1004 which ^H834 was toward ^H413 the north ^H6828; and behold ^H2009, women ^H802 were sitting ^H3427 there ^H8033 weeping ^H1058 for [fn]Tammuz ^H8542. 15 And He said ^H559 to me, “Do you see ^H7200 this, son ^H1121 of man ^H120? Yet ^H5750 you will see ^H7200 still ^H7725 greater ^H1419 abominations ^H8441 than ^H4480 these ^H428!”

16 Then He brought ^H935 me into the inner ^H6442 courtyard ^H2691 of the LORD’S ^H3068 house ^H1004. And behold ^H2009, at the entrance ^H6607 to the temple ^H1964 of the LORD ^H3068, between ^H996 the porch ^H197 and the altar ^H4196, were about twenty-five ^H6242 H2568 men ^H376 with their backs ^H268 to the temple ^H1964 of the LORD ^H3068 while their faces ^H6440 were toward the east ^H6924; and they were [fn]prostrating ^H2331 themselves eastward ^H6924 toward the sun ^H8121. 17 And He said ^H559 to me, “Do you see ^H7200 this, son ^H1121 of man ^H120? Is ^H7043 it a ^H7043 trivial ^H7043 thing ^H7043 for the house ^H1004 of Judah ^H3063 to commit ^H6213 the abominations ^H8441 which ^H834 they have committed ^H6213 here ^H6311, that they have filled ^H4390 the land ^H776 with violence ^H2555 and provoked ^H3707 Me to ^H3707 anger ^H3707 repeatedly ^H7725? Yet behold ^H2009, they are [fn]putting ^H7971 the twig ^H2156 to their nose ^H639! 18 Therefore, I indeed ^H1571 will deal ^H6213 in wrath ^H2534. My eye ^H5869 will have ^H2347 no ^H3808 pity ^H2347 nor ^H3808 will I spare ^H2550; and though they cry ^H7121 out ^H7121 in My ears ^H241 with a loud ^H1419 voice ^H6963, yet I will not listen ^H8085 to them.”
