A Glorified Zion

1 “Arise ^H6965, shine ^H215; for your light ^H216 has come ^H935,

And the glory ^H3519 of the LORD ^H3068 has risen ^H2224 upon you.

2 “For behold ^H2009, darkness ^H2822 will cover ^H3680 the earth ^H776

And deep ^H6205 darkness ^H6205 the peoples ^H3816;

But the LORD ^H3068 will rise ^H2224 upon you

And His glory ^H3519 will appear ^H7200 upon you.

3 “Nations ^H1471 will come ^H1980 to your light ^H216,

And kings ^H4428 to the brightness ^H5051 of your rising ^H2225.

4 “Raise ^H5375 your eyes ^H5869 all ^H5439 around ^H5439 and see ^H7200;

They all ^H3605 gather ^H6908 together, they come ^H935 to you.

Your sons ^H1121 will come ^H935 from afar ^H7350,

And your daughters ^H1323 will be [fn]carried ^H539 on the hip ^H6654.

5 “Then ^H227 you will see ^H7200 and be radiant ^H5102,

And your heart ^H3824 will [fn]thrill ^H6342 and rejoice ^H7337;

Because ^H3588 the [fn]abundance ^H1995 of the sea ^H3220 will be turned ^H2015 to you,

The wealth ^H2428 of the nations ^H1471 will come ^H935 to you.

6 “A multitude ^H8229 of camels ^H1581 will cover ^H3680 you,

The young ^H1072 camels ^H1072 of Midian ^H4080 and Ephah ^H5891;

All ^H3605 those from Sheba ^H7614 will come ^H935;

They will bring ^H5375 gold ^H2091 and frankincense ^H3828,

And proclaim ^H1319 good ^H1319 news ^H1319 of the praises ^H8416 of the LORD ^H3068.

7 “All ^H3605 the flocks ^H6629 of Kedar ^H6938 will be gathered ^H6908 to you,

The rams ^H352 of Nebaioth ^H5032 will serve ^H8334 you;

They will go ^H5927 up ^H5927 on My altar ^H4196 with acceptance ^H7522,

And I will glorify ^H6286 My glorious ^H8597 house ^H1004.

8 “Who ^H4310 are these ^H428 who fly ^H5774 like a cloud ^H5645

And like the doves ^H3123 to their windows ^H699?

9 “Certainly ^H3588 the coastlands ^H339 will wait ^H6960 for Me;

And the ships ^H591 of Tarshish ^H8659 will come first ^H7223,

To bring ^H935 your sons ^H1121 from afar ^H7350,

Their silver ^H3701 and their gold ^H2091 with them,

For the name ^H8034 of the LORD ^H3068 your God ^H430,

And for the Holy ^H6918 One ^H6918 of Israel ^H3478 because ^H3588 He has glorified ^H6286 you.

10 “Foreigners ^H1121 will build ^H1129 up ^H1129 your walls ^H2346,

And their kings ^H4428 will serve ^H8334 you;

For in My wrath ^H7110 I struck ^H5221 you,

And in My favor ^H7522 I have had ^H7355 compassion ^H7355 on ^H7355 you.

11 “Your gates ^H8179 will be open ^H6605 continually ^H8548;

They will not be closed ^H5462 day ^H3119 or night ^H3915,

So that people may bring ^H935 you the wealth ^H2428 of the nations ^H1471,

With their kings ^H4428 led ^H5090 in ^H5090 procession ^H5090.

12 “For the nation ^H1471 and the kingdom ^H4467 which ^H834 will not serve ^H5647 you will perish ^H6,

And the nations ^H1471 will be utterly ^H2717 ruined ^H2717.

13 “The glory ^H3519 of Lebanon ^H3844 will come ^H935 to you,

The juniper ^H1265, the elm ^H8410 tree ^H8410 and the [fn]cedar ^H8391 together ^H3162,

To beautify ^H6286 the place ^H4725 of My sanctuary ^H4720;

And I will make ^H3513 the place ^H4725 of My feet ^H7272 glorious ^H3513.

14 “The sons ^H1121 of those who afflicted ^H6031 you will come ^H1980 bowing ^H7817 to you,

And all ^H3605 those who despised ^H5006 you will bow ^H2331 down ^H2331 at the soles ^H3709 of your feet ^H7272;

And they will call ^H7121 you the city ^H5892 of the LORD ^H3068,

The Zion ^H6726 of the Holy ^H6918 One ^H6918 of Israel ^H3478.

15 “Whereas ^H8478 you have been ^H1961 forsaken ^H5800 and hated ^H8130

With no ^H369 one ^H369 passing ^H5674 through ^H5674,

I will make ^H7760 you an object ^H1347 of ^H1347 pride ^H1347 forever ^H5769,

A joy ^H4885 from generation ^H1755 to generation ^H1755.

16 “You will also suck ^H3243 the milk ^H2461 of nations ^H1471,

And suck ^H3243 the breast ^H7699 of kings ^H4428;

Then you will know ^H3045 that I, the LORD ^H3068, am your Savior ^H3467

And your Redeemer ^H1350, the Mighty ^H46 One ^H46 of Jacob ^H3290.

17 “Instead ^H8478 of ^H8478 bronze ^H5178 I will bring ^H935 gold ^H2091,

And instead ^H8478 of ^H8478 iron ^H1270 I will bring ^H935 silver ^H3701,

And instead ^H8478 of ^H8478 wood ^H6086, bronze ^H5178,

And instead ^H8478 of ^H8478 stones ^H68, iron ^H1270.

And I will make ^H7760 peace ^H7965 your administrators ^H6486,

And righteousness ^H6666 your overseers ^H5065.

18 “Violence ^H2555 will not be heard ^H8085 again ^H5750 in your land ^H776,

Nor ^H3808 devastation ^H7701 or destruction ^H7667 within your borders ^H1366;

But you will call ^H7121 your walls ^H2346 salvation ^H3444, and your gates ^H8179 praise ^H8416.

19 “No ^H3808 longer ^H5750 will you have ^H1961 the sun ^H8121 for light ^H216 by day ^H3119,

Nor ^H3808 will the moon ^H3394 give ^H215 you light ^H215 for brightness ^H5051;

But you will have ^H1961 the LORD ^H3068 as an everlasting ^H5769 light ^H216,

And your God ^H430 as your [fn]glory ^H8597.

20 “Your sun ^H8121 will no ^H3808 longer ^H5750 set ^H935,

Nor ^H3808 will your moon ^H3394 wane ^H622;

For you will have ^H1961 the LORD ^H3068 as an everlasting ^H5769 light ^H216,

And the days ^H3117 of your mourning ^H60 will be ^H7999 over ^H7999.

21 “Then all ^H3605 your people ^H5971 will be righteous ^H6662;

They will possess ^H3423 the land ^H776 forever ^H5769,

The branch ^H5342 of [fn]My planting ^H4302,

The work ^H4639 of My hands ^H3027,

That I may be glorified ^H6286.

22 “The smallest ^H6996 one ^H6996 will become ^H1961 a thousand ^H505,

And the least ^H6810 one ^H6810 a mighty ^H6099 nation ^H1471.

I, the LORD ^H3068, will bring ^H2363 it about ^H2363 quickly ^H2363 in its time ^H6256.”
