The Murmuring of Miriam and Aaron

1 Then Miriam ^H4813 and Aaron ^H175 spoke ^H1696 against Moses ^H4872 because ^H5921 H182 of the Cushite ^H3571 woman ^H802 whom ^H834 he had married ^H3947 (for he had married ^H3947 a Cushite ^H3571 woman ^H802);

2 and they said ^H559, “Is it a fact ^H389 that the LORD ^H3068 has spoken ^H1696 only ^H7534 through Moses ^H4872? Has He not spoken ^H1696 through us as ^H1571 well ^H1571?” And the LORD ^H3068 heard ^H8085 this. 3 (Now the man ^H376 Moses ^H4872 was very ^H3966 humble ^H6035, more ^H4480 than ^H4480 any ^H3605 person ^H120 who ^H834 was on the face ^H6440 of the earth ^H127.) 4 And the LORD ^H3068 suddenly ^H6597 said ^H559 to Moses ^H4872 and to Aaron ^H175 and Miriam ^H4813, “You three ^H7969 go ^H3318 out ^H3318 to the tent ^H168 of meeting ^H4150.” So the three ^H7969 of them went ^H3318 out ^H3318. 5 Then the LORD ^H3068 came ^H3381 down ^H3381 in a pillar ^H5982 of cloud ^H6051 and stood ^H5975 at the entrance ^H6607 of the tent ^H168; and He called ^H7121 Aaron ^H175 and Miriam ^H4813. When they had both ^H8147 come ^H3318 forward ^H3318, 6 He said ^H559,

“Now ^H4994 hear ^H8085 My words ^H1697:

If ^H518 there is a prophet ^H5030 among you,

I, the LORD ^H3068, will make ^H3045 Myself known ^H3045 to him in a vision ^H4759.

I will speak ^H1696 with him in a dream ^H2472.

7 “It is not this ^H3651 way ^H3651 for My servant ^H5650 Moses ^H4872;

He is faithful ^H539 in all ^H3605 My household ^H1004;

8 With him I speak ^H1696 mouth ^H6310 to mouth ^H6310,

That is, openly ^H4758, and not [fn]using [fn]mysterious ^H2420 language ^H2420,

And he beholds ^H5027 the form ^H8544 of the LORD ^H3068.

So why ^H4069 were ^H3372 you not afraid ^H3372

To speak ^H1696 against My servant ^H5650, against Moses ^H4872?”

9 And the anger ^H639 of the LORD ^H3068 burned ^H2734 against them and He departed ^H1980. 10 But when the cloud ^H6051 had withdrawn ^H5493 from above ^H5921 the tent ^H168, behold ^H2009, Miriam ^H4813 was leprous ^H6879, as white as snow ^H7950. As Aaron ^H175 turned ^H6437 toward ^H413 Miriam ^H4813, behold ^H2009, she was leprous ^H6879. 11 Then Aaron ^H175 said ^H559 to Moses ^H4872, “Oh ^H994, my lord ^H113, I beg ^H994 you, do not [fn]hold ^H7896 us responsible ^H5921 for this sin ^H2403 by which ^H834 we have turned ^H2973 out ^H2973 to ^H2973 be ^H2973 foolish ^H2973, and by which ^H834 we have sinned ^H2398. 12 Oh ^H4994, do not let her be like a dead ^H4191 person ^H4191, whose ^H834 flesh ^H1320 is half ^H2677 eaten ^H398 away when he comes ^H3318 out ^H3318 of his mother’s ^H517 womb ^H7358!” 13 So Moses ^H4872 cried ^H6817 out ^H6817 to the LORD ^H3068, saying ^H559, “God ^H410, heal ^H7495 her, please ^H4994!” 14 But the LORD ^H3068 said ^H559 to Moses ^H4872, “If her father ^H1 had only spit ^H3417 in her face ^H6440, would she not be put ^H3637 to ^H3637 shame ^H3637 for seven ^H7651 days ^H3117? Have her shut ^H5462 outside ^H4480 H2351 the camp ^H4264 for seven ^H7651 days ^H3117, and afterward ^H310 she may be received ^H622 again.” 15 So Miriam ^H4813 was shut ^H5462 outside ^H4480 H2351 the camp ^H4264 for seven ^H7651 days ^H3117, and the people ^H5971 did not move ^H5265 on until ^H5704 Miriam ^H4813 was received ^H622 again.

16 Afterward ^H310, however, the people ^H5971 moved ^H5265 on ^H5265 from Hazeroth ^H2698 and camped ^H2583 in the wilderness ^H4057 of Paran ^H6290.
