PSALM 107

The LORD Rescues People from Many Troubles.

1 Give ^H3034 thanks ^H3034 to the LORD ^H3068, for He is good ^H2896,

For His mercy ^H2617 is everlasting ^H5769.

2 The redeemed ^H1350 of the LORD ^H3068 shall say ^H559 so,

Those whom ^H834 He has redeemed ^H1350 from the hand ^H3027 of the enemy ^H6862

3 And gathered ^H6908 from the lands ^H776,

From the east ^H4217 and from the west ^H4628,

From the north ^H6828 and from the [fn]south ^H3220.

4 They wandered ^H8582 in the wilderness ^H4057 in a [fn]desert ^H3452 region ^H3452;

They did not find ^H4672 a way ^H1870 to [fn]an inhabited ^H4186 city ^H5892.

5 They were hungry ^H7457 [fn]and thirsty ^H6771;

Their souls ^H5315 felt ^H5848 weak ^H5848 within them.

6 Then they cried ^H6817 out ^H6817 to the LORD ^H3068 in their trouble ^H6862;

He saved ^H5337 them from their distresses ^H4691.

7 He also had them walk ^H1869 on a [fn]straight ^H3477 way ^H1870,

To go ^H1980 to [fn]an inhabited ^H4186 city ^H5892.

8 They shall give ^H3034 thanks ^H3034 to the LORD ^H3068 for His mercy ^H2617,

And for His [fn]wonders ^H6381 to the sons ^H1121 of mankind ^H120!

9 For He has satisfied ^H7646 the [fn]thirsty ^H8264 soul ^H5315,

And He has filled ^H4390 the hungry ^H7457 soul ^H5315 with what ^H2896 is ^H2896 good ^H2896.

10 There were those who lived ^H3427 in darkness ^H2822 and in [fn]the shadow ^H6757 of ^H6757 death ^H6757,

Prisoners ^H615 in misery ^H6040 and [fn]chains ^H1270,

11 Because ^H3588 they had rebelled ^H4784 against the words ^H561 of God ^H410

And rejected ^H5006 the plan ^H6098 of the Most ^H5945 High ^H5945.

12 Therefore He humbled ^H3665 their heart ^H3820 with labor ^H5999;

They stumbled ^H3782 and there ^H369 was ^H369 no ^H369 one ^H369 to help ^H5826.

13 Then they cried ^H2199 out ^H2199 to the LORD ^H3068 in their trouble ^H6862;

He saved ^H3467 them from their distresses ^H4691.

14 He brought ^H3318 them out ^H3318 of darkness ^H2822 and [fn]the shadow ^H6757 of ^H6757 death ^H6757

And broke ^H5423 their bands ^H4147 apart ^H5423.

15 They shall give ^H3034 thanks ^H3034 to the LORD ^H3068 for His mercy ^H2617,

And for His [fn]wonders ^H6381 to the sons ^H1121 of mankind ^H120!

16 For He has shattered ^H7665 gates ^H1817 of bronze ^H5178

And cut ^H1438 off ^H1438 bars ^H1280 of iron ^H1270.

17 Fools ^H191, because ^H4480 of [fn]their rebellious ^H6588 way ^H1870,

And because ^H4480 of their guilty ^H5771 deeds ^H5771, were afflicted ^H6031.

18 Their souls ^H5315 loathed ^H8581 all ^H3605 kinds of food ^H400,

And they came ^H5060 close ^H5060 to the gates ^H8179 of death ^H4194.

19 Then they cried ^H2199 out ^H2199 to the LORD ^H3068 in their trouble ^H6862;

He saved ^H3467 them from their distresses ^H4691.

20 He sent ^H7971 His word ^H1697 and healed ^H7495 them,

And saved ^H4422 them from their [fn]destruction ^H7825.

21 They shall give ^H3034 thanks ^H3034 to the LORD ^H3068 for His mercy ^H2617,

And for His [fn]wonders ^H6381 to the sons ^H1121 of mankind ^H120!

22 They shall also offer ^H2076 sacrifices ^H2077 of thanksgiving ^H8426,

And tell ^H5608 of His works ^H4639 with joyful ^H7440 singing ^H7440.

23 Those who go ^H3381 down ^H3381 to the sea ^H3220 in ships ^H591,

Who do ^H6213 business ^H4399 on great ^H7227 waters ^H4325;

24 They have seen ^H7200 the works ^H4639 of the LORD ^H3068,

And His [fn]wonders ^H6381 in the deep ^H4688.

25 For He spoke ^H559 and raised ^H5975 a stormy ^H5591 wind ^H7307,

Which lifted ^H7311 the waves ^H1530 [fn]of the sea.

26 They rose ^H5927 up ^H5927 to the heavens ^H8064, they went ^H3381 down ^H3381 to the depths ^H8415;

Their soul ^H5315 melted ^H4127 away ^H4127 in their misery ^H7451.

27 They reeled ^H2287 and staggered ^H5128 like a drunken ^H7910 person ^H7910,

And [fn]were ^H1104 at ^H1104 their wits’ ^H2451 end ^H1104.

28 Then they cried ^H6817 out ^H6817 to the LORD ^H3068 in their trouble ^H6862,

And He brought ^H3318 them out ^H3318 of their distresses ^H4691.

29 He caused ^H6965 the storm ^H5591 to be still ^H1827,

So that the waves ^H1530 [fn]of the sea were hushed ^H2814.

30 Then they were ^H8055 glad ^H8055 because ^H3588 they were quiet ^H8367,

So He guided ^H5148 them to their desired ^H2656 harbor ^H4231.

31 They shall give ^H3034 thanks ^H3034 to the LORD ^H3068 for His mercy ^H2617,

And for His [fn]wonders ^H6381 to the sons ^H1121 of mankind ^H120!

32 They shall also exalt ^H7311 Him in the congregation ^H6951 of the people ^H5971,

And praise ^H1984 Him at the seat ^H4186 of the elders ^H2205.

33 He turns ^H7760 rivers ^H5104 into a [fn]wilderness ^H4057,

And springs ^H4161 of water ^H4325 into a thirsty ^H6774 ground ^H6774;

34 And a fruitful ^H6529 land ^H776 into a salt ^H4420 waste ^H4420,

Because ^H4480 of the wickedness ^H7451 of those who dwell ^H3427 in it.

35 He turns ^H7760 a [fn]wilderness ^H4057 into a pool ^H98 of water ^H4325,

And a dry ^H6723 land ^H776 into springs ^H4161 of water ^H4325;

36 And He has the hungry ^H7457 live ^H3427 there ^H8033,

So that they may establish ^H3559 [fn]an inhabited ^H4186 city ^H5892,

37 And sow ^H2232 fields ^H7704 and plant ^H5193 vineyards ^H3754,

And [fn]gather ^H6213 a fruitful ^H6529 harvest ^H8393.

38 He also blesses ^H1288 them and they multiply ^H7235 greatly ^H3966,

And He does not let their cattle ^H929 decrease ^H4591.

39 When they become ^H4591 few ^H4591 and lowly ^H7817

Because ^H4480 of oppression ^H6115, misery ^H7451, and sorrow ^H3015,

40 He pours ^H8210 contempt ^H937 upon noblemen ^H5081

And makes them wander ^H8582 in a pathless ^H3808 H1870 wasteland ^H8414.

41 But He sets ^H7682 the needy ^H34 [fn]securely ^H7682 on ^H7682 high ^H7682, away from affliction ^H6040,

And makes ^H7760 his families ^H4940 like a flock ^H6629.

42 The upright ^H3477 see ^H7200 it and are ^H8055 glad ^H8055;

But all ^H3605 injustice ^H5766 shuts ^H7092 its mouth ^H6310.

43 Who ^H4310 is wise ^H2450? He is to pay ^H8104 attention ^H8104 to these ^H428 things ^H428,

And consider ^H995 the mercy ^H2617 of the LORD ^H3068.
