PSALM 31

A Psalm of Complaint and of Praise.

For the music director. A Psalm of David.

1 In You, LORD ^H3068, I have taken ^H2620 refuge ^H2620;

Let me never ^H408 H5769 be [fn]put ^H954 to ^H954 shame ^H954;

In Your righteousness ^H6666 rescue ^H6403 me.

2 Incline ^H5186 Your ear ^H241 to me, rescue ^H5337 me quickly ^H4120;

Be a rock ^H6697 of [fn]strength ^H4581 for me,

A [fn]stronghold ^H4686 to save ^H3467 me.

3 For You are my rock ^H5553 and my fortress ^H4686;

For the sake ^H4616 of Your name ^H8034 You will lead ^H5148 me and guide ^H5095 me.

4 You will pull ^H3318 me out ^H3318 of the net ^H7568 which ^H2098 they have secretly ^H2934 laid ^H2934 for me,

For You are my strength ^H4581.

5 Into Your hand ^H3027 I entrust ^H6485 my spirit ^H7307;

You have redeemed ^H6299 me, LORD ^H3068, God ^H410 of [fn]truth ^H571.

6 I hate ^H8130 those who devote ^H8104 themselves to worthless ^H7723 [fn]idols ^H1892,

But I trust ^H982 in the LORD ^H3068.

7 I will rejoice ^H1523 and be ^H8055 glad ^H8055 in Your faithfulness ^H2617,

Because ^H834 You have seen ^H7200 my misery ^H6040;

You have known ^H3045 the troubles ^H6869 of my soul ^H5315,

8 And You have not handed ^H5462 H3027 me over ^H5462 to the enemy ^H340;

You have set ^H5975 my feet ^H7272 in a large ^H4800 place ^H4800.

12 I am forgotten ^H7911 like a dead ^H4191 person ^H4191, out of mind ^H3820;

14 But as for me, I trust ^H982 in You, LORD ^H3068,

Rescue ^H5337 me from the hand ^H3027 of my enemies ^H340 and from those who persecute ^H7291 me.

16 Make Your face ^H6440 shine ^H215 upon Your servant ^H5650;

Save ^H3467 me in Your faithfulness ^H2617.

17 Let me not be put ^H954 to ^H954 shame ^H954, LORD ^H3068, for I call ^H7121 upon You;

Let the wicked ^H7563 be put ^H954 to ^H954 shame ^H954, let them be ^H1826 silent ^H1826 in [fn]Sheol ^H7585.

18 Let the lying ^H8267 lips ^H8193 be ^H481 speechless ^H481,

Which speak ^H1696 arrogantly ^H6277 against ^H5921 the righteous ^H6662

With pride ^H1346 and contempt ^H937.

19 How ^H4100 great ^H7227 is Your goodness ^H2898,

Which ^H834 You have stored ^H6845 up for those who fear ^H3372 You,

Which You have performed ^H6466 for those who take ^H2620 refuge ^H2620 in You,

Before ^H5048 the sons ^H1121 of mankind ^H120!

20 You hide ^H5641 them in the secret ^H5643 place ^H5643 of Your presence ^H6440 from the conspiracies ^H7407 of mankind ^H376;

You keep ^H6845 them secretly ^H6845 in a [fn]shelter ^H5521 from the strife ^H7379 of tongues ^H3956.

21 Blessed ^H1288 be the LORD ^H3068,

For He has shown ^H6381 His marvelous ^H6381 faithfulness ^H2617 to me in a besieged ^H4692 city ^H5892.

22 As for me, I said ^H559 in my alarm ^H2648,

“I am cut ^H1629 off ^H1629 from Your eyes ^H5869”;

Nevertheless ^H403 You heard ^H8085 the sound ^H6963 of my pleadings ^H8469

When I called ^H7768 to You for ^H7768 help ^H7768.

23 Love ^H157 the LORD ^H3068, all ^H3605 His godly ^H2623 ones ^H2623!

The LORD ^H3068 watches ^H5341 over ^H5341 the faithful ^H539

But fully ^H5921 H3499 repays ^H7999 the one who acts ^H6213 arrogantly ^H1346.

24 Be strong ^H2388 and let your heart ^H3824 take ^H553 courage ^H553,

All ^H3605 you who wait ^H3176 for the LORD ^H3068.
