David’s Last Song

David ^H1732 the son ^H1121 of Jesse ^H3448 declares ^H5002,

The man ^H1397 who was raised ^H6965 on high ^H5920,

The anointed ^H4899 of the God ^H430 of Jacob ^H3290

And the sweet ^H5273 psalmist ^H2158 of Israel ^H3478, declares ^H5002,

2 “The Spirit ^H7307 of the LORD ^H3068 spoke ^H1696 through me,

And His word ^H4405 was on my tongue ^H3956.

3 “The God ^H430 of Israel ^H3478 said ^H559 it;

The Rock ^H6697 of Israel ^H3478 spoke ^H1696 to me:

‘He who rules ^H4910 over mankind ^H120 righteously ^H6662,

Who rules ^H4910 in the fear ^H3374 of God ^H430,

4 Is like the light ^H216 of the morning ^H1242 when the sun ^H8121 rises ^H2224,

A morning ^H1242 without ^H3808 clouds ^H5645,

When the fresh ^H1877 grass ^H1877 springs out of the earth ^H776

5 “Is my house ^H1004 not indeed ^H3588 so ^H3651 with God ^H410?

For He has made ^H7760 an everlasting ^H5769 covenant ^H1285 with me,

Properly ^H6186 ordered ^H6186 in all ^H3605 things ^H3605, and secured ^H8104;

For will He not indeed ^H3588 make

All ^H3605 my salvation ^H3468 and all ^H3605 my delight ^H2656 grow ^H6779?

6 “But the worthless ^H1100, every ^H3605 one ^H3605 of them, are like scattered ^H5074 thorns ^H6975,

Because ^H3588 they cannot ^H3808 be taken ^H3947 in hand ^H3027;

7 Instead, the man ^H376 who touches ^H5060 them

Must be [fn]armed ^H4390 with iron ^H1270 and the shaft ^H6086 of a spear ^H2595,

And they will be completely ^H8313 burned ^H8313 with fire ^H784 in their [fn]place ^H7675.”

David’s Mighty Men

8 These ^H428 are the names ^H8034 of the mighty ^H1368 men ^H1368 whom ^H834 David ^H1732 had: Josheb-basshebeth ^H3429, a Tahchemonite ^H8461, chief ^H7218 of the [fn]captains ^H7991; he was called Adino ^H5722 the Eznite ^H6112 because ^H5921 of eight ^H8083 hundred ^H3967 who were killed ^H2491 by him at one ^H259 time ^H6471.
