Be Strong

If ^G1487 we [fn]deny ^G720 Him, He will also ^G2548 deny ^G720 us;

13 If ^G1487 we are faithless ^G569, He remains ^G3306 faithful ^G4103, for He cannot ^G1410 G3756 deny ^G720 Himself ^G1438.

An Unashamed Worker

14 Remind ^G5279 them of these ^G3778 things ^G3778, and solemnly ^G1263 exhort ^G1263 them in ^G1799 the ^G1799 presence ^G1799 of ^G1799 God ^G2316 not to dispute ^G3054 about ^G3054 words ^G3054, which is useless ^G3762 G5539 and leads to the ruin ^G2692 of the listeners ^G191.

Among them are Hymenaeus ^G5211 and Philetus ^G5372, 18 men who ^G3748 have gone ^G795 astray ^G795 from the truth ^G225, claiming ^G3004 that the resurrection ^G386 has already ^G2235 taken ^G1096 place ^G1096; and they are ^G396 jeopardizing ^G396 the faith ^G4102 of some ^G5100. 19 Nevertheless ^G3305, the firm ^G4731 foundation ^G2310 of God ^G2316 stands ^G2476, having ^G2192 this ^G3778 seal ^G4973: “The Lord ^G2962 knows ^G1097 those ^G3588 who are His;” and, “Everyone ^G3956 who names ^G3687 the name ^G3686 of the Lord ^G2962 is to keep ^G868 away ^G868 from wickedness ^G93.”

20 Now ^G1161 in a large ^G3173 house ^G3614 there are not only ^G3440 gold ^G5552 and silver ^G693 implements ^G4632, but also ^G2532 implements of wood ^G3585 and of earthenware ^G3749, and some ^G3739 are for honor ^G5092 while others ^G3739 are for dishonor ^G819. 21 Therefore ^G3767, if ^G1437 anyone ^G5100 cleanses ^G1571 himself ^G1438 from these ^G3778 things, he will be an implement ^G4632 for honor ^G5092, sanctified ^G37, useful ^G2173 to the Master ^G1203, prepared ^G2090 for every ^G3956 good ^G18 work ^G2041. 22 Now ^G1161 flee ^G5343 from youthful ^G3512 lusts ^G1939 and pursue ^G1377 righteousness ^G1343, faith ^G4102, love ^G26, and peace ^G1515 with those ^G3588 who call ^G1941 on ^G1941 the Lord ^G2962 from a pure ^G2513 heart ^G2588. 23 But refuse ^G3868 foolish ^G3474 and ignorant ^G521 speculations ^G2214, knowing ^G6063 that they produce ^G1080 [fn]quarrels ^G3163. 24 The Lord’s ^G2962 bond-servant ^G1401 must ^G1163 not be quarrelsome ^G3164, but be kind ^G2261 to all ^G3956, skillful ^G1317 in ^G1317 teaching ^G1317, patient ^G420 when ^G420 wronged ^G420, 25 with gentleness ^G4240 correcting ^G3811 those ^G3588 who are in opposition ^G475, if ^G3379 perhaps ^G3379 God ^G2316 may grant ^G1325 them repentance ^G3341 leading ^G1519 to the knowledge ^G1922 of the truth ^G225, 26 and they may come ^G366 to ^G366 their senses ^G366 and escape from the snare ^G3803 of the devil ^G1228, having been held ^G2221 captive ^G2221 [fn]by him to do his will ^G2307.
