People Affirm Their Covenant with God

1 Then He said ^H559 to Moses ^H4872, “Come ^H5927 up ^H5927 to the LORD ^H3068, you and Aaron ^H175, Nadab ^H5070 and Abihu ^H30, and seventy ^H7657 of the elders ^H2205 of Israel ^H3478, and you shall worship ^H2331 at a distance ^H7350.

2 Moses ^H4872 alone ^H905, however, shall approach ^H5066 the LORD ^H3068, but they shall not approach ^H5066, nor ^H3808 shall the people ^H5971 come ^H5927 up ^H5927 with him.”

3 Then Moses ^H4872 came ^H935 and reported ^H5608 to the people ^H5971 all ^H3605 the words ^H1697 of the LORD ^H3068 and all ^H3605 the [fn]ordinances ^H4941; and all ^H3605 the people ^H5971 answered ^H6030 with one ^H259 voice ^H6963 and said ^H559, “All ^H3605 the words ^H1697 which ^H834 the LORD ^H3068 has spoken ^H1696 we will do ^H6213!” 4 And Moses ^H4872 wrote ^H3789 down ^H3789 all ^H3605 the words ^H1697 of the LORD ^H3068. 12 Now the LORD ^H3068 said ^H559 to Moses ^H4872, “Come ^H5927 up ^H5927 to Me on the mountain ^H2022 and [fn]stay ^H1961 there ^H8033, and I will give ^H5414 you the stone ^H68 tablets ^H3871 [fn]with the Law ^H8451 and the [fn]commandments ^H4687 which ^H834 I have written ^H3789 for their instruction ^H3384.” 13 So Moses ^H4872 got ^H6965 up ^H6965 [fn]along with Joshua ^H3091 his [fn]servant ^H8334, and Moses ^H4872 went ^H5927 up ^H5927 to the mountain ^H2022 of God ^H430. 14 But to the elders ^H2205 he said ^H559, “Wait ^H3427 here ^H2088 for us until ^H5704 H834 we return ^H7725 to you. And behold ^H2009, Aaron ^H175 and Hur ^H2354 are with you; whoever ^H4310 [fn]has a legal matter ^H1697, have him approach ^H5066 them.” 15 Then Moses ^H4872 went ^H5927 up ^H5927 to the mountain ^H2022, and the cloud ^H6051 covered ^H3680 the mountain ^H2022. 16 The glory ^H3519 of the LORD ^H3068 [fn]settled ^H7931 on Mount ^H2022 Sinai ^H5514, and the cloud ^H6051 covered ^H3680 it for six ^H8337 days ^H3117; and on the seventh ^H7637 day ^H3117 He called ^H7121 to Moses ^H4872 from the midst ^H8432 of the cloud ^H6051. 17 And to the eyes ^H5869 of the sons ^H1121 of Israel ^H3478, the appearance ^H4758 of the glory ^H3519 of the LORD ^H3068 was like a consuming ^H398 fire ^H784 on the mountain ^H2022 top ^H7218. 18 Then Moses ^H4872 entered ^H935 the midst ^H8432 of the cloud ^H6051 [fn]as he went ^H5927 up ^H5927 to the mountain ^H2022; and Moses ^H4872 was on the mountain ^H2022 for forty ^H705 days ^H3117 and forty ^H705 nights ^H3915.
