Judgment on Gentile Nations—Ammon

1 And the word ^H1697 of the LORD ^H3068 came ^H1961 to me, saying ^H559,

2 “Son ^H1121 of man ^H120, set ^H7760 your face ^H6440 against ^H413 the sons ^H1121 of Ammon ^H5983 and prophesy ^H5012 against ^H5921 them, 3 and say ^H559 to the sons ^H1121 of Ammon ^H5983, ‘Hear ^H8085 the word ^H1697 of the Lord ^H136 [fn]GOD ^H3068! This ^H3541 is ^H3541 what ^H3541 the Lord ^H136 GOD ^H3068 says ^H559: “Because ^H3282 you said ^H559, ‘Aha ^H1889!’ against ^H413 My sanctuary ^H4720 when ^H3588 it was profaned ^H2490, and against ^H413 the land ^H127 of Israel ^H3478 when ^H3588 it was made ^H8074 desolate ^H8074, and against ^H413 the house ^H1004 of Judah ^H3063 when ^H3588 they went ^H1980 into exile ^H1473, 4 therefore ^H3651, behold ^H2009, I am going to give ^H5414 you to the [fn]people ^H1121 of the east ^H6924 as a possession ^H4181, and they will set ^H3427 up ^H3427 their encampments ^H2918 among you and make ^H5414 their dwellings ^H4908 among you; they will eat ^H398 your fruit ^H6529 and drink ^H8354 your milk ^H2461. 5 I will make ^H5414 Rabbah ^H7237 a pasture ^H5116 for camels ^H1581, and the sons ^H1121 of Ammon ^H5983 a resting ^H4769 place ^H4769 for flocks ^H6629. Then you will know ^H3045 that I am the LORD ^H3068.” 6 For this ^H3541 is ^H3541 what ^H3541 the Lord ^H136 GOD ^H3068 says ^H559: “Because ^H3282 you have clapped ^H4222 your hands ^H3027 and stamped ^H7554 your feet ^H7272, and have rejoiced ^H8055 with all ^H3605 the malice ^H7589 in your soul ^H5315 against ^H413 the land ^H127 of Israel ^H3478, 7 therefore ^H3651, behold ^H2009, I have reached ^H5186 out ^H5186 with My hand ^H3027 against ^H5921 you and I will give ^H5414 you as plunder ^H957 to the nations ^H1471. And I will cut ^H3772 you off ^H3772 from the peoples ^H5971 and eliminate ^H6 you from the lands ^H776. I will exterminate ^H8045 you. So you will know ^H3045 that I am the LORD ^H3068.”

Moab

8 ‘The Lord ^H136 GOD ^H3068 says ^H559 this ^H3541: “Because ^H3282 Moab ^H4124 and Seir ^H8165 say ^H559, ‘Behold ^H2009, the house ^H1004 of Judah ^H3063 is like all ^H3605 the nations ^H1471,’

9 therefore ^H3651, behold ^H2009, I am going to [fn]deprive ^H6605 the flank ^H3802 of Moab ^H4124 of its cities ^H5892, of its cities ^H5892 [fn]which are on its frontiers ^H7097, the glory ^H6643 of the land ^H776, Beth-jeshimoth ^H1020, Baal-meon ^H1186, and Kiriathaim ^H7156; 10 and I will give ^H5414 it as a possession ^H4181 along ^H5921 with ^H5921 the sons ^H1121 of Ammon ^H5983 to the [fn]people ^H1121 of the east ^H6924, so ^H4616 that ^H4616 the sons ^H1121 of Ammon ^H5983 will not be remembered ^H2142 among the nations ^H1471. 11 So I will execute ^H6213 judgments ^H8201 on Moab ^H4124, and they will know ^H3045 that I am the LORD ^H3068.”

Edom

12 ‘The Lord ^H136 GOD ^H3068 says ^H559 this ^H3541: “Because ^H3282 Edom ^H123 has acted ^H6213 against the house ^H1004 of Judah ^H3063 by taking ^H5358 vengeance ^H5359, and has incurred ^H816 great ^H816 guilt ^H816, and avenged ^H5358 themselves upon them,”

13 therefore ^H3651 this ^H3541 is ^H3541 what ^H3541 the Lord ^H136 GOD ^H3068 says ^H559: “I will also reach ^H5186 out ^H5186 with My hand ^H3027 against ^H5921 Edom ^H123 and eliminate ^H3772 human ^H120 and animal ^H929 life from it. And I will turn ^H5414 it into ruins ^H2723; from Teman ^H8487 even to Dedan ^H1719 they will fall ^H5307 by the sword ^H2719. 14 And I will inflict ^H5414 My vengeance ^H5360 on Edom ^H123 by the hand ^H3027 of My people ^H5971 Israel ^H3478. Therefore, they will act ^H6213 in Edom ^H123 in accordance with My anger ^H639 and My wrath ^H2534; so they will know ^H3045 My vengeance ^H5360,” declares ^H5002 the Lord ^H136 GOD ^H3068.

Philistia

15 ‘This ^H3541 is ^H3541 what the Lord ^H136 GOD ^H3068 says ^H559: “Because ^H3282 the Philistines ^H6430 have acted ^H6213 in revenge ^H5360, and have taken ^H5358 vengeance ^H5359 with malice ^H7589 in their souls ^H5315 to destroy ^H4889 with everlasting ^H5769 hostility ^H342,”

16 therefore ^H3651 this ^H3541 is ^H3541 what ^H3541 the Lord ^H136 GOD ^H3068 says ^H559: “Behold ^H2009, I am going to reach ^H5186 out ^H5186 with My hand ^H3027 against ^H5921 the Philistines ^H6430 and eliminate ^H3772 the Cherethites ^H3774; and I will destroy ^H6 the remnant ^H7611 of the seacoast ^H3220 H2348. 17 I will execute ^H6213 great ^H1419 vengeance ^H5360 on them with wrathful ^H2534 rebukes ^H8433; and they will know ^H3045 that I am the LORD ^H3068, when I inflict ^H5414 My vengeance ^H5360 on them.”’”
