Punishment for Wickedness Foretold

1 Moreover, the word ^H1697 of the LORD ^H3068 came ^H1961 to me, saying ^H559,

2 “And you, son ^H1121 of man ^H120, this ^H3541 is ^H3541 what ^H3541 the Lord ^H136 [fn]GOD ^H3068 says ^H559 to the land ^H127 of Israel ^H3478: ‘An end ^H7093! The end ^H7093 is coming ^H935 on the four ^H702 corners ^H3671 of the land ^H776. 3 Now ^H6258 the end ^H7093 is upon you, for I will send ^H7971 My anger ^H639 against you; I will judge ^H8199 you according to your ways ^H1870 and [fn]bring ^H5414 all ^H3605 your abominations ^H8441 upon you. 4 And My eye ^H5869 will have ^H2347 no ^H3808 pity ^H2347 on you, nor ^H3808 will I spare ^H2550 you, but I will [fn]bring ^H5414 your ways ^H1870 upon you, and your abominations ^H8441 will be among ^H8432 you; then you will know ^H3045 that I am the LORD ^H3068!’

5 “This ^H3541 is ^H3541 what ^H3541 the Lord ^H136 [fn]GOD ^H3068 says ^H559: ‘A disaster ^H7451, a unique ^H259 disaster ^H7451, behold ^H2009, it is coming ^H935! 6 An end ^H7093 [fn]is coming ^H935; the end ^H7093 has come ^H935! It has awakened ^H6974 against ^H413 you; behold ^H2009, it has come ^H935! 7 Your [fn]doom ^H6843 has come ^H935 to you, you inhabitant ^H3427 of the land ^H776. 10 ‘Behold ^H2009, the day ^H3117! Behold ^H2009, it is coming ^H935! Your [fn]doom ^H6843 has gone ^H3318 forth ^H3318; the rod ^H4294 has budded ^H6692, arrogance ^H2087 has blossomed ^H6524. 11 Violence ^H2555 [fn]has grown ^H6965 into a rod ^H4294 of wickedness ^H7562. None ^H3808 of them shall remain, none ^H3808 of their [fn]people ^H1995, none ^H3808 of their wealth ^H1991, nor ^H3808 anything eminent ^H5089 among them. 12 The time ^H6256 has come ^H935, the day ^H3117 has arrived ^H5060. Let neither ^H408 the buyer ^H7069 rejoice ^H8055 nor ^H408 the seller ^H4376 mourn ^H56; for wrath ^H2740 is against ^H413 all ^H3605 their multitude ^H1995. 13 Indeed ^H3588, the seller ^H4376 will not [fn]regain ^H7725 [fn]what ^H4465 he sold ^H4465 as long ^H5750 as [fn]they both live ^H2416 H2416; for the vision ^H2377 regarding ^H413 all ^H3605 their multitude ^H1995 will not [fn]be averted ^H7725, nor ^H3808 will any ^H376 of them maintain ^H2388 his life ^H2416 by his wrongdoing ^H5771.

14 ‘They have blown ^H8628 the trumpet ^H8619 and made ^H3559 everything ^H3605 ready ^H3559, but no ^H369 one ^H369 is going ^H1980 to the battle ^H4421, for My wrath ^H2740 is against ^H413 all ^H3605 [fn]their multitude ^H1995. 15 The sword ^H2719 is outside ^H2351 the city and the plague ^H1698 and the famine ^H7458 are within ^H1004. The Temple Profaned

20 Moreover, they transformed ^H7760 the splendor ^H6643 of His jewels ^H5716 into pride ^H1347, and they made ^H6213 the images ^H6754 of their abominations ^H8441 and their detestable ^H8251 things ^H8251 with it; therefore ^H5921 H3651 I will make ^H5414 it an abhorrent ^H5079 thing ^H5079 to them. 21 And I will hand ^H5414 H3027 it over ^H5414 to the foreigners ^H2114 as plunder ^H957, and to the wicked ^H7563 of the earth ^H776 as spoils ^H7998; and they will profane ^H2490 it. 22 I will also turn ^H5437 My face ^H6440 away ^H5437 from them, and they will profane ^H2490 My treasure ^H6845; then robbers ^H6530 will enter ^H935 and profane ^H2490 it.

23 ‘Make ^H6213 the [fn]chain ^H7569, for the land ^H776 is full ^H4390 of [fn]bloody ^H1818 crimes ^H4941, and the city ^H5892 is full ^H4390 of violence ^H2555. 24 Therefore, I will bring ^H935 the worst ^H7451 of the nations ^H1471, and they will take ^H3423 possession ^H3423 of their houses ^H1004. I will deal ^H6213 with them because ^H4480 of their conduct ^H1870, and by their judgments ^H4941 I will judge ^H8199 them. And they will know ^H3045 that I am the LORD ^H3068.’”
