Judgment on the Earth

1 Behold ^H2009, the LORD ^H3068 lays ^H1238 the earth ^H776 waste ^H1238, devastates ^H1110 it, twists ^H5753 its surface ^H6440, and scatters ^H6327 its inhabitants ^H3427.

2 And the people ^H5971 will be like the priest ^H3548, the servant ^H5650 like his master ^H113, the female ^H8198 servant ^H8198 like her mistress ^H1404, the buyer ^H7069 like the seller ^H4376, the lender ^H3867 like the borrower ^H3867, the creditor ^H5383 like the debtor ^H5377. 3 The earth ^H776 will be completely ^H1238 laid ^H1238 waste ^H1238 and completely ^H962 plundered ^H962, for the LORD ^H3068 has spoken ^H1696 this ^H2088 word ^H1697. 4 The earth ^H776 dries ^H56 up ^H56 and crumbles ^H5034 away ^H5034, the mainland ^H8398 dries ^H535 out ^H535 and crumbles ^H5034 away ^H5034, the exalted ^H4791 of the people ^H5971 of the earth ^H776 dwindle ^H535. 5 The earth ^H776 is also defiled ^H2610 [fn]by its inhabitants ^H3427, for they violated ^H5674 laws ^H8451, altered ^H2498 statutes ^H2706, and broke ^H6565 the everlasting ^H5769 covenant ^H1285. 6 Therefore ^H5921 H3651, a curse ^H423 devours ^H398 the earth ^H776, and those who live ^H3427 on it suffer ^H816 for ^H816 their guilt ^H816. 7 The new ^H8492 wine ^H8492 mourns ^H56,

The vine ^H1612 decays ^H535,

8 The joy ^H4885 of tambourines ^H8596 ceases ^H7673,

The noise ^H7588 of revelers ^H5947 stops ^H2308,

The joy ^H4885 of the harp ^H3658 ceases ^H7673.

9 They do not drink ^H8354 wine ^H3196 with song ^H7892;

Intoxicating ^H7941 drink ^H7941 is bitter ^H4843 to those who drink ^H8354 it.

10 The city ^H7151 of chaos ^H8414 is broken ^H7665 down ^H7665;

As the gleanings ^H5955 when ^H518 the grape ^H1210 harvest ^H1210 is ^H3615 over ^H3615.

14 They raise ^H5375 their voices ^H6963, they shout ^H7442 for ^H7442 joy ^H7442;

They cry ^H6670 out ^H6670 from the [fn]west ^H3220 concerning the majesty ^H1347 of the LORD ^H3068.

15 Therefore ^H5921 H3651 glorify ^H3513 the LORD ^H3068 in the [fn]east ^H217,

The name ^H8034 of the LORD ^H3068, the God ^H430 of Israel ^H3478,

In the [fn]coastlands ^H339 of the sea ^H3220.

16 From the ends ^H3671 of the earth ^H776 we hear ^H8085 songs ^H2158: “Glory ^H6643 to the Righteous ^H6662 One ^H6662,”

But I say ^H559, “[fn]I am finished ^H7334! I am finished ^H7334! Woe ^H188 to me!

The treacherous ^H898 deal ^H898 treacherously ^H898,

And the treacherous ^H898 deal ^H898 very ^H899 treacherously ^H898.”

17 Terror ^H6343 and pit ^H6354 and snare ^H6341

[fn]Confront ^H5921 you, you inhabitant ^H3427 of the earth ^H776.

18 Then it will be that the one who flees ^H5127 the sound ^H6963 of terror ^H6343 will fall ^H5307 into the pit ^H6354,

And the one who [fn]climbs ^H5927 out of the pit ^H6354 will be caught ^H3920 in the snare ^H6341;

For the windows ^H699 [fn]above ^H4480 H4791 are opened ^H6605, and the foundations ^H4144 of the earth ^H776 shake ^H7493.

19 The earth ^H776 is broken ^H7489 apart ^H7489,

The earth ^H776 is split ^H6565 through ^H6565,

The earth ^H776 is shaken ^H4131 violently ^H4131.

20 The earth ^H776 trembles ^H5128 like a heavy ^H7910 drinker ^H7910

And sways ^H5110 like a hut ^H4412,

For its wrongdoing ^H6588 is ^H3513 heavy ^H3513 upon it,

And it will fall ^H5307, never ^H3808 to rise ^H6965 again ^H3254.

21 So it will happen ^H1961 on that day ^H3117,

That the LORD ^H3068 will punish ^H6485 the rebellious [fn]angels ^H6635 of [fn]heaven ^H4791 on high ^H4791,

And the kings ^H4428 of the earth ^H127 on earth ^H127.

22 They will be gathered ^H622 together ^H626

Like prisoners ^H616 in the [fn]dungeon ^H953,

And will be confined ^H5462 in ^H5462 prison ^H4525;

And after ^H4480 many ^H7230 days ^H3117 they will be punished ^H6485.

23 Then the moon ^H3842 will be ashamed ^H2659 and the sun ^H2535 be put ^H954 to ^H954 shame ^H954,

For the LORD ^H3068 of armies ^H6635 will reign ^H4427 on Mount ^H2022 Zion ^H6726 and in Jerusalem ^H3389,

And His glory ^H3519 will be before ^H5048 His elders ^H2205.
