Eliphaz Accuses and Exhorts Job

Unchecked Copy BoxJob 22:2 - “Can a strong man be of use to God,
Or a wise one be useful to himself?
Unchecked Copy BoxJob 22:3 - “Is it any pleasure to [fn]the Almighty if you are righteous,
Or gain if you make your ways blameless?
Unchecked Copy BoxJob 22:4 - “Is it because of your [fn]reverence that He punishes you,
That He enters into judgment against you?
Unchecked Copy BoxJob 22:5 - “Is your wickedness not abundant,
And is there no end to your guilty deeds?
Unchecked Copy BoxJob 22:6 - “For you have seized pledges from your brothers without cause,
And [fn]stripped people naked.

And you have withheld bread from the hungry.

And the one who is honorable dwells on it.

And sudden dread terrifies you,

And a flood of water covers you.

Can He judge through the thick darkness?

Which wicked people have walked,

Whose foundations were [fn]washed away by a river?

And ‘What can [fn]the Almighty do to them?’

But the advice of the wicked is far from me.

And the innocent mock them, saying,

And fire has consumed their [fn]abundance.’

Thereby good will come to you.

And put His words in your heart.

If you remove injustice far from your tent,

And the gold of Ophir among the stones of the brooks,

And abundant silver to you.

And lift up your face to God.

And light will shine on your ways.

And He will save the [fn]humble person.
