The Silver Trumpets

1 The LORD ^H3068 spoke ^H1696 further to Moses ^H4872, saying ^H559,

2 “Make ^H6213 yourself two ^H8147 trumpets ^H2689 of silver ^H3701, you shall make ^H6213 them of hammered ^H4749 work ^H4749; and you shall use ^H1961 them for summoning ^H4744 the congregation ^H5712 and breaking ^H4550 camp ^H4264. 3 Now when both ^H1992 are blown ^H8628, all ^H3605 the congregation ^H5712 shall meet ^H3259 you at the entrance ^H6607 of the tent ^H168 of meeting ^H4150. 4 But if ^H518 only one ^H259 is blown ^H8628, then the leaders ^H5387, the heads ^H7218 of the [fn]divisions ^H505 of Israel ^H3478, shall meet ^H3259 you. 5 And when you blow ^H8628 an alarm ^H8643, the camps ^H4264 that are pitched ^H2583 on the east ^H6924 side ^H6924 shall set ^H5265 out ^H5265. 6 Then when you sound ^H8628 an alarm ^H8643 the second ^H8145 time ^H8145, the camps ^H4264 that are pitched ^H2583 on the south ^H8486 side ^H8486 shall set ^H5265 out ^H5265; an alarm ^H8643 is to be sounded ^H8628 for them to break ^H4550 camp ^H4550. 7 When convening ^H6950 the assembly ^H6951, however, you shall blow ^H8628 the trumpets without ^H3808 sounding ^H7321 an ^H7321 alarm ^H7321. 8 The sons ^H1121 of Aaron ^H175, moreover, the priests ^H3548, shall blow ^H8628 the trumpets ^H2689; and this shall be a permanent ^H5769 statute ^H2708 for you throughout your generations ^H1755. 9 And when ^H3588 you go ^H935 to war ^H4421 in your land ^H776 against ^H5921 the enemy ^H6862 who attacks ^H6887 you, then you shall sound ^H7321 an ^H7321 alarm ^H7321 with the trumpets ^H2689, so that you will be thought ^H2142 of ^H2142 by the LORD ^H3068 your God ^H430, and be saved ^H3467 from your enemies ^H340. 10 Also on the day ^H3117 of your joy ^H8057 and at your appointed ^H4150 [fn]feasts ^H4150, and on the first ^H7218 days of your months ^H2320, you shall blow ^H8628 the trumpets ^H2689 over ^H5921 your burnt ^H5930 offerings ^H5930, and over ^H5921 the sacrifices ^H2077 of your peace ^H8002 offerings ^H8002; and they shall be as a reminder ^H2146 of you before ^H6440 your God ^H430. I am the LORD ^H3068 your God ^H430.”

The Tribes Leave Sinai

11 Now in the second ^H8145 year ^H8141, in the second ^H8145 month ^H2320, on the twentieth ^H6242 of the month ^H2320, the cloud ^H6051 was lifted ^H5927 from above ^H5921 the [fn]tabernacle ^H4908 of the testimony ^H5715;

12 and the sons ^H1121 of Israel ^H3478 set ^H5265 out ^H5265 on their journeys ^H4550 from the wilderness ^H4057 of Sinai ^H5514. 17 Then the tabernacle ^H4908 was taken ^H3381 down ^H3381; and the sons ^H1121 of Gershon ^H1648 and the sons ^H1121 of Merari ^H4847, who were carrying ^H5375 the tabernacle ^H4908, set ^H5265 out ^H5265. 18 Next the flag ^H1714 of the camp ^H4264 of Reuben ^H7205, by their armies ^H6635, set ^H5265 out ^H5265 with Elizur ^H468 the son ^H1121 of Shedeur ^H7707, over ^H5921 its army ^H6635, 19 and Shelumiel ^H8017 the son ^H1121 of Zurishaddai ^H6701 over ^H5921 the tribal ^H4294 army ^H6635 of the sons ^H1121 of Simeon ^H8095, 20 and Eliasaph ^H460 the son ^H1121 of Deuel ^H1845 was over ^H5921 the tribal ^H4294 army ^H6635 of the sons ^H1121 of Gad ^H1410.

21 Then the Kohathites ^H6956 set ^H5265 out ^H5265, carrying ^H5375 the holy ^H4720 objects; and the tabernacle ^H4908 was set ^H6965 up ^H6965 before ^H5704 their arrival ^H935. 22 Next the flag ^H1714 of the camp ^H4264 of the sons ^H1121 of Ephraim ^H669, by their armies ^H6635, set ^H5265 out ^H5265, with Elishama ^H476 the son ^H1121 of Ammihud ^H5989 over ^H5921 its army ^H6635, 23 and Gamaliel ^H1583 the son ^H1121 of Pedahzur ^H6301 over ^H5921 the tribal ^H4294 army ^H6635 of the sons ^H1121 of Manasseh ^H4519; 24 and Abidan ^H27 the son ^H1121 of Gideoni ^H1441 over ^H5921 the tribal ^H4294 army ^H6635 of the sons ^H1121 of Benjamin ^H1144.

25 Then the flag ^H1714 of the camp ^H4264 of the sons ^H1121 of Dan ^H1835, by their armies ^H6635, which formed ^H622 the ^H622 rear ^H622 guard ^H622 for all ^H3605 the camps ^H4264, set ^H5265 out ^H5265, with Ahiezer ^H295 the son ^H1121 of Ammishaddai ^H5996 over ^H5921 its army ^H6635, 26 and Pagiel ^H6295 the son ^H1121 of Ochran ^H5918 over ^H5921 the tribal ^H4294 army ^H6635 of the sons ^H1121 of Asher ^H836; 27 and Ahira ^H299 the son ^H1121 of Enan ^H5881 over ^H5921 the tribal ^H4294 army ^H6635 of the sons ^H1121 of Naphtali ^H5321. 28 [fn]This ^H428 was the order ^H4550 of ^H4550 marching ^H4550 for the sons ^H1121 of Israel ^H3478 by their armies ^H6635 as they set ^H5265 out ^H5265.

33 So they moved ^H5265 on ^H5265 from the mountain ^H2022 of the LORD ^H3068 three ^H7969 days’ ^H3117 journey ^H1870, with the ark ^H727 of the covenant ^H1285 of the LORD ^H3068 going ^H5265 on ^H5265 in front ^H6440 of them for the [fn]three ^H7969 days ^H3117, to seek ^H8446 out ^H8446 a resting ^H4496 place ^H4496 for them. 34 And the cloud ^H6051 of the LORD ^H3068 was over ^H5921 them by day ^H3119 when they set ^H5265 out ^H5265 from the camp ^H4264.

35 Then it came ^H1961 about ^H1961 when the ark ^H727 set ^H5265 out ^H5265 that Moses ^H4872 said ^H559,

“Rise ^H6965 up ^H6965, LORD ^H3068!

And may Your enemies ^H340 be scattered ^H6327,

And those who hate ^H8130 You flee ^H5127 from Your presence ^H6440.”

36 And when it came ^H5117 to ^H5117 rest ^H5117, he said ^H559,

“Return ^H7725, LORD ^H3068,

To the myriad ^H7233 thousands ^H505 of Israel ^H3478.”
