Gen 41:1-13—The dream of Pharaoh.

Gen 41:8 And it came to pass in the morning that his spirit was troubled; and he sent and called for all the magicians of Egypt, and all the wise men thereof: and Pharaoh told them his dream; but there was none that could interpret them unto Pharaoh.

Gen 41:45 And Pharaoh called Joseph's name Zaphnath-paaneah; and he gave him to wife Asenath the daughter of Potipherah priest of On. And Joseph went out over all the land of Egypt.

Asenath

Asenath, the Gentile bride espoused by Joseph the rejected one (John 19:15), type of the Church, called out from the Gentiles to be the bride of Christ during the time of His rejection by His brethren, Israel (Acts 15:14; Ephesians 5:31, 32). See Scofield Genesis 37:2, note.

Gen 41:51 And Joseph called the name of the firstborn Manasseh: For God, said he, hath made me forget all my toil, and all my father's house.

Manasseh

i.e. forgetting.

Gen 41:52 And the name of the second called he Ephraim: For God hath caused me to be fruitful in the land of my affliction.

i.e. fruitful.
