Stephanas:
crown, a member of the church at Corinth, whose family were among those the apostle had baptized (1Cr 1:16; 16:15,17). He has been supposed by some to have been the "jailer of Philippi" (Act 16:33). The First Epistle to the Corinthians was written from Philippi some six years after the jailer's conversion, and he was with the apostle there at that time.
The Blue Letter Bible ministry and the BLB Institute hold to the historical, conservative Christian faith, which includes a firm belief in the inerrancy of Scripture. Since the text and audio content provided by BLB represent a range of evangelical traditions, all of the ideas and principles conveyed in the resource materials are not necessarily affirmed, in total, by this ministry.
