Taanach:
a sandy place, an ancient royal city of the Canaanites, on the south-western border of the plain of Esdraelon, 4 miles south of Megiddo. Its king was conquered by Joshua (Jos 12:21). It was assigned to the Levites of the family of Kohath (Jos 17:11-18; 21:25). It is mentioned in the song of Deborah (Jdg 5:19). It is identified with the small modern village of Ta'annuk.
The Blue Letter Bible ministry and the BLB Institute hold to the historical, conservative Christian faith, which includes a firm belief in the inerrancy of Scripture. Since the text and audio content provided by BLB represent a range of evangelical traditions, all of the ideas and principles conveyed in the resource materials are not necessarily affirmed, in total, by this ministry.
