Eshtemoa:
and in shorter form Eshtemoh (obedience) a town of Judah in the mountains (Joshua 15:50) allotted to the priests (Joshua 21:14; 1 Chronicles 6:57). It was one of the places frequented by David and his followers during the long period of their wanderings (1 Samuel 30:28 compare 1 Samuel 30:31). Its site is at Semu'a, a village seven miles south of Hebron.
The Blue Letter Bible ministry and the BLB Institute hold to the historical, conservative Christian faith, which includes a firm belief in the inerrancy of Scripture. Since the text and audio content provided by BLB represent a range of evangelical traditions, all of the ideas and principles conveyed in the resource materials are not necessarily affirmed, in total, by this ministry.
