THE CURRENT TEACHING OF THE MORMON CHURCH:

Jesus became a God. He was not always God. L.D.S.-God, as a resurrected physical man, is literal father of Jesus. The Father came and had sexual relations with Mary for Jesus to be conceived on earth. They believe Matthew 1:18 is in error.

"Jesus became a God and reached His great state of understanding through consistent effort and continuous obedience to all the Gospel truth and universal laws."

1. THE BIBLE TEACHES THAT JESUS HAS ALWAYS BEEN GOD:
In the beginning...the Word was God. Jhn 1:1, 2; 20:28, 29; 1Jo 5:20
And the Word was made flesh. Jhn 1:14, 18
Thy throne, O God, is forever and ever. Hbr 1:8
Jesus Christ the same yesterday, today, and forever. Hbr 13:8
It was prophesied, the mighty God. Isa 9:6
Affirmed by the Apostles Rom 9:5
2. THE BIBLE TEACHES JESUS HAS THE ATTRIBUTES OF GOD THE FATHER:
All powerful Mat 28:18
All knowing Col 2:3
Ever present Mat 18:20
Eternal Jhn 1:1, 2, 15
Creator Jhn 1:1-3
Eternal Mic 5:2; Hbr 1:8
Omnipresent Mat 28:20
Omniscient Jhn 2:24
Omnipotent Hbr 1:3
Indwelling Presence Col 1:27; Jhn 14:20, 23
I AM (ego eimi Greek) is Jesus Jhn 18:5, 8; 8:58
3. THE BIBLE TEACHES JESUS IS NOT THE BROTHER OF LUCIFER:
For by Him were all things created, that are in heaven, Col 1:16
God, who created all things by Jesus Christ. Eph 3:9
No angel is or can ever be called God's Son Hbr 1:5, 6
World not in subjection to any angel Hbr 2:5
He did not take on the nature of angels Hbr 2:16
Glorified with God - not angels Jhn 17:5
All power given to Him, in heaven and earth Mat 28:18
He has a name that is above all names Phl 2:9, 10
God will not share His glory with any other Isa 42:8
4. THE BIBLE TEACHES JESUS WAS BEGOTTEN BY THE HOLY SPIRIT:
(Not as a result of sexual relationship between God the Father and the virgin Mary, as taught in Mormon Doctrine pgs. 546, 47; 742)
She was found with child by the Holy Ghost Mat 1:18
For that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost. Mat 1:20
The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee. Luk 1:35
NOTE: The Jesus of the Mormon Church is not the Jesus of the Bible. There is only one God, according to the Bible. Within the nature of the one eternal God are three distinct persons, the Father, the Son and the Holy Ghost. The Mormon Jesus, is one God of many Gods, begotten by the Father, and the spirit brother of Satan.
