[Tit 3:5 NASB20] 5 He saved us, not on the basis of deeds which we did in righteousness, but in accordance with His mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewing by the Holy Spirit,
[Tit 2:11-14 NASB20] 11 For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation to all people, 12 instructing us to deny ungodliness and worldly desires and to live sensibly, righteously, and in a godly manner in the present age, 13 looking for the blessed hope and the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior, Christ Jesus, 14 who gave Himself for us to redeem us from every lawless deed, and to purify for Himself a people for His own possession, eager for good deeds.
[Tit 3:8, 14 NASB20] 8 This statement is trustworthy; and concerning these things I want you to speak confidently, so that those who have believed God will be careful to engage in good deeds. These things are good and beneficial for people. ... 14 Our people must also learn to engage in good deeds to meet pressing needs, so that they will not be unproductive.
[Tit 1:16 NASB20] 16 They profess to know God, but by [their] deeds they deny [Him,] being detestable and disobedient and worthless for any good deed.
[Mat 7:15-27 NASB20] 15 "Beware of the false prophets, who come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly are ravenous wolves. 16 "You will know them by their fruits. Grapes are not gathered from thorn [bushes,] nor figs from thistles, are they? 17 "So every good tree bears good fruit, but the bad tree bears bad fruit. 18 "A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a bad tree bear good fruit. 19 "Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. 20 "So then, you will know them by their fruits. 21 "Not everyone who says to Me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of My Father who is in heaven [will enter.] 22 "Many will say to Me on that day, 'Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in Your name, and in Your name cast out demons, and in Your name perform many miracles?' 23 "And then I will declare to them, 'I never knew you; LEAVE ME, YOU WHO PRACTICE LAWLESSNESS.' 24 "Therefore, everyone who hears these words of Mine, and acts on them, will be like a wise man who built his house on the rock. 25 "And the rain fell and the floods came, and the winds blew and slammed against that house; and [yet] it did not fall, for it had been founded on the rock. 26 "And everyone who hears these words of Mine, and does not act on them, will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand. 27 "And the rain fell and the floods came, and the winds blew and slammed against that house; and it fell--and its collapse was great."
[Amo 8:7-10 NASB20] 7 The LORD has sworn by the pride of Jacob, "Indeed, I will never forget any of their deeds. 8 "Because of this will the land not quake, And everyone who lives in it mourn? Indeed, all of it will rise up like the Nile, And it will be tossed about And subside like the Nile of Egypt. 9 "And it will come about on that day," declares the Lord GOD, "That I will make the sun go down at noon, And make the earth dark in broad daylight. 10 "Then I will turn your festivals into mourning, And all your songs into songs of mourning; And I will put sackcloth around everyone's waist, And baldness on every head. And I will make it like [a time of] mourning for an only son, And the end of it will be like a bitter day.
[Amo 1:1 NASB20] 1 The words of Amos, who was among the sheepherders from Tekoa, which he saw [in visions] concerning Israel in the days of Uzziah king of Judah, and in the days of Jeroboam son of Joash, king of Israel, two years before the earthquake.
[Amo 8:11-13 NASB20] 11 "Behold, days are coming," declares the Lord GOD, "When I will send a famine on the land, Not a famine of bread or a thirst for water, But rather for hearing the words of the LORD. 12 "People will stagger from sea to sea And from the north even to the east; They will roam about to seek the word of the LORD, But they will not find [it.] 13 "On that day the beautiful virgins And the young men will faint from thirst.
[Amo 2:4 NASB20] 4 This is what the LORD says: "For three offenses of Judah, and for four, I will not revoke its [punishment,] Because they rejected the Law of the LORD And have not kept His statutes; Their lies also have led them astray, Those which their fathers followed.
[Amo 8:14 NASB20] 14 "[As for] those who swear by the guilt of Samaria, And say, 'As your god lives, Dan,' And, 'As the way of Beersheba lives,' They will fall and not rise again."
[1Ki 12:28-30 NASB20] 28 So the king consulted, and he made two golden calves; and he said to the people, "It is too much for you to go up to Jerusalem; behold your gods, Israel, that brought you up from the land of Egypt." 29 And he set up one in Bethel, and the other he put in Dan. 30 Now this thing became a sin, for the people went [to worship] before the one as far as Dan.
[Hos 8:1-6 NASB20] 1 [Put] the trumpet to your lips! Like an eagle [the enemy comes] against the house of the LORD, Because they have violated My covenant And rebelled against My Law. 2 They cry out to Me, "My God, we of Israel know You!" 3 Israel has rejected the good; The enemy will pursue him. 4 They have set up kings, but not by Me; They have appointed officials, but I did not know [it.] With their silver and gold they have made idols for themselves, So that they will be eliminated. 5 He has rejected your calf, Samaria, [saying,] "My anger burns against them!" How long will they be incapable of innocence? 6 For from Israel [comes] even this! A craftsman made it, so it is not God; Assuredly, the calf of Samaria will be broken to pieces.
[2Ki 10:29 NASB20] 29 However, [as for] the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, into which he misled Israel, from these Jehu did not desist, [including] the golden calves that [were] at Bethel and at Dan.
Recognizing the value of consistent reflection upon the Word of God in order to refocus one's mind and heart upon Christ and His Gospel of peace, we provide several reading plans designed to cover the entire Bible in a year.
The Blue Letter Bible ministry and the BLB Institute hold to the historical,
conservative Christian faith, which includes a firm belief in the inerrancy
of Scripture. Since the text and audio content provided by BLB represent a
range of evangelical traditions, all of the ideas and principles conveyed
in the resource materials are not necessarily affirmed, in total, by this ministry.
