When Isaac was old and his eyes were so weak that he could not see, he called his older son Esau and said to him, “My son.”
And he answered, “Here I am.”
Now when Isaac was old and his eyes were too dim to see, he called his elder [and favorite] son Esau and said to him, “My son.” And Esau answered him, “Here I am.”
وَحَدَثَ لَمَّا شَاخَ إِسْحَاقُ وَكَلَّتْ عَيْنَاهُ عَنِ النَّظَرِ، أَنَّهُ دَعَا عِيسُوَ ابْنَهُ الأَكْبَرَ وَقَالَ لَهُ: «يَا ابْنِي». فَقَالَ لَهُ: «هأَنَذَا».
