وَتَقُولُونَ: هُوَذَا عَبْدُكَ يَعْقُوبُ أَيْضًا وَرَاءَنَا». لأَنَّهُ قَالَ: «أَسْتَعْطِفُ وَجْهَهُ بِالْهَدِيَّةِ السَّائِرَةِ أَمَامِي، وَبَعْدَ ذلِكَ أَنْظُرُ وَجْهَهُ، عَسَى أَنْ يَرْفَعَ وَجْهِي».

«تَقُولُونَ أَيْضاً: هُوَذَا عَبْدُكَ يَعْقُوبُ قَادِمٌ وَرَاءَنَا». وَكَانَ يَعْقُوبُ يَقُولُ فِي نَفْسِهِ: «أَسْتَعْطِفُهُ بِالْهَدَايَا الَّتِي تَتَقَدَّمُنِي، ثُمَّ بَعْدَ ذَلِكَ أُشَاهِدُ وَجْهَهُ لَعَلَّهُ يَرْضَى عَنِّي».
