καὶ εἶδεν καὶ οὐκ ἦν ἀνήρ καὶ κατενόησεν καὶ οὐκ ἦν ἀντιλημψόμενος καὶ ἠμύνατο αὐτοὺς τῷ βραχίονι αὐτοῦ καὶ τῇ ἐλεημοσύνῃ ἐστηρίσατο

فَرَأَى أَنَّهُ لَيْسَ إِنْسَانٌ، وَتَحَيَّرَ مِنْ أَنَّهُ لَيْسَ شَفِيعٌ. فَخَلَّصَتْ ذِرَاعُهُ لِنَفْسِهِ، وَبِرُّهُ هُوَ عَضَدَهُ.
