فَمَدَّ إِهُودُ يَدَهُ الْيُسْرَى وَأَخَذَ السَّيْفَ عَنْ فَخْذِهِ الْيُمْنَى وَضَرَبَهُ فِي بَطْنِهِ.

فَاقْتَرَبَ آنَئِذٍ مِنْهُ إِهُودُ وَهُوَ جَالِسٌ فِي عُلِّيَّتِهِ الْخَاصَّةِ، وَقَالَ لَهُ: «لَدَيَّ لَكَ رِسَالَةٌ مِنَ اللهِ». فَنَهَضَ الْمَلِكُ عَنْ سَرِيرِهِ. فَمَدَّ عِنْدَئِذٍ إِهُودُ يَدَهُ الْيُسْرَى وَاسْتَلَّ سَيْفَهُ عَنْ فَخْذِهِ الْيُمْنَى وَأَغْمَدَهُ فِي بَطْنِهِ
