Then Daniel, whose name is Belteshazzar, was stunned for a moment, and his thoughts alarmed him. The king said, “Belteshazzar, don’t let the dream or its interpretation alarm you.”
Belteshazzar answered, “My lord, may the dream apply to those who hate you, and its interpretation to your enemies!
“Then H116 Daniel H1841, whose H1768 name H8036 is Belteshazzar H1096, was appalled H8075 for a while H8160 as his thoughts H7476 alarmed H927 him. The king H4430 responded H6032 and said H560, ‘Belteshazzar H1096, do not let the dream H2493 or its interpretation H6591 alarm H927 you.’ Belteshazzar H1096 replied H6032, ‘My lord H4756, if only the dream H2493 applied to those who hate H8131 you, and its interpretation H6591 to your adversaries H6146!
“Then H116 Daniel H1841, whose H1768 name H8036 is Belteshazzar H1096, was appalled H8075 for a while H8160 as his thoughts H7476 were alarming H927 him. The king H4430 answered H6032 and said H560, ‘Belteshazzar H1096, do not let the dream H2493 or its interpretation H6591 alarm H927 you.’ Belteshazzar H1096 answered H6032 and said H560, ‘My lord H4756, if only the dream H2493 applied to those who hate H8131 you and its interpretation H6591 to your adversaries H6146!
“Then Daniel, whose [Babylonian] name was Belteshazzar, was appalled and speechless for a while [because he was deeply concerned about the destiny of the king], and his thoughts alarmed him. The king said, ‘Belteshazzar, do not let the dream or its interpretation frighten you.’ Belteshazzar answered, ‘My lord, may the dream be [meant] for those who hate you and its message for your enemies!
حِينَئِذٍ تَحَيَّرَ دَانِيآلُ الَّذِي اسْمُهُ بَلْطَشَاصَّرُ سَاعَةً وَاحِدَةً وَأَفْزَعَتْهُ أَفْكَارُهُ. أَجَابَ الْمَلِكُ وَقَالَ: «يَا بَلْطَشَاصَّرُ، لاَ يُفْزِعُكَ الْحُلْمُ وَلاَ تَعْبِيرُهُ». فَأَجَابَ بَلْطَشَاصَّرُ وَقَالَ: «يَا سَيِّدِي، الْحُلْمُ لِمُبْغِضِيكَ وَتَعْبِيرُهُ لأَعَادِيكَ.
