فَسَأَلَ دَاوُدُ مِنَ الرَّبِّ قَائِلاً: «أَأَذْهَبُ وَأَضْرِبُ هؤُلاَءِ الْفِلِسْطِينِيِّينَ؟» فَقَالَ الرَّبُّ لِدَاوُدَ: «اذْهَبْ وَاضْرِبِ الْفِلِسْطِينِيِّينَ وَخَلِّصْ قَعِيلَةَ».

فَسَأَلَ الرَّبَّ: «هَلْ أَمْضِي لِمُحَارَبَةِ الْفِلِسْطِينِيِّينَ؟» فَأَجَابَهُ الرَّبُّ: «اذْهَبْ وَحَارِبْهُمْ وَأَنْقِذْ قَعِيلَةَ».
