Surely a son considers his father a fool,
a daughter opposes her mother,
and a daughter-in-law is against her mother-in-law;
a man’s enemies are the men of his own household.
For the son dishonors the father and treats him contemptuously,
The daughter rises up [in hostility] against her mother,
The daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law—
A man’s enemies are the men (members) of his own household.
لأَنَّ الابْنَ مُسْتَهِينٌ بِالأَبِ، وَالْبِنْتَ قَائِمَةٌ عَلَى أُمِّهَا، وَالْكَنَّةَ عَلَى حَمَاتِهَا، وَأَعْدَاءُ الإِنْسَانِ أَهْلُ بَيْتِهِ.
