فَصَدَّقَ أَخِيشُ دَاوُدَ قَائِلاً: «قَدْ صَارَ مَكْرُوهًا لَدَى شَعْبِهِ إِسْرَائِيلَ، فَيَكُونُ لِي عَبْدًا إِلَى الأَبَدِ».

فَصَدَّقَ أَخِيشُ أَخْبَارَ دَاوُدَ قَائِلاً فِي نَفْسِهِ: «لَقَدْ أَصْبَحَ دَاوُدُ مَكْرُوهاً لَدَى قَوْمِهِ إِسْرَائِيلَ، لِذَلِكَ سَيَظَلُّ مَاكِثاً عِنْدِي خَادِماً لِي إِلَى الأَبَدِ».

So David had the full confidence of Anchus, [fn]who said, He is thoroughly disgraced among his people in Israel, and he shall be my servant for ever.
