فَقَالُوا: «إِذَا أَرْسَلْتُمْ تَابُوتَ إِلهِ إِسْرَائِيلَ، فَلاَ تُرْسِلُوهُ فَارِغًا، بَلْ رُدُّوا لَهُ قُرْبَانَ إِثْمٍ. حِينَئِذٍ تَشْفَوْنَ وَيُعْلَمُ عِنْدَكُمْ لِمَاذَا لاَ تَرْتَفِعُ يَدُهُ عَنْكُمْ».

فَأَجَابُوهُمْ: «إِذَا أَعَدْتُمْ تَابُوتَ إِلَهِ إِسْرَائِيلَ فَلا تُعِيِدُوهُ فَارِغاً بَلْ أَرْسِلُوا مَعَهُ قُرْبَانَ إِثْمٍ، حِينَئِذٍ تَبْرَأُونَ وَتُدْرِكُونَ عِلَّةَ مَا أَصَابَكُمْ مِنْ عِقَابٍ».
