فَقَالَ رُؤَسَاءُ بَنِي عَمُّونَ لِحَانُونَ سَيِّدِهِمْ: «هَلْ يُكْرِمُ دَاوُدُ أَبَاكَ فِي عَيْنَيْكَ حَتَّى أَرْسَلَ إِلَيْكَ مُعَزِّينَ؟ أَلَيْسَ لأَجْلِ فَحْصِ الْمَدِينَةِ وَتَجَسُّسِهَا وَقَلْبِهَا، أَرْسَلَ دَاوُدُ عَبِيدَهُ إِلَيْكَ؟»
