ثُمَّ قَالَ الرَّبُّ لِمُوسَى: «مُدَّ يَدَكَ نَحْوَ السَّمَاءِ لِيَكُونَ ظَلاَمٌ عَلَى أَرْضِ مِصْرَ، حَتَّى يُلْمَسُ الظَّلاَمُ».

فَقَالَ الرَّبُّ لِمُوسَى: «ابْسُطْ يَدَكَ نَحْوَ السَّمَاءِ فَيَطْغَى ظَلامٌ عَلَى كُلِّ أَرْجَاءِ مِصْرَ حَتَّى يَكَادَ يُلْمَسُ لِكَثَافَتِهِ».
