The Israelites, however, were unfaithful regarding the things set apart for destruction. Achan son of Carmi, son of Zabdi, son of Zerah, of the tribe of Judah, took some of what was set apart, and the LORD’s anger burned against the Israelites.
But the sons H1121 of Israel H3478 acted H4603 unfaithfully H4603 H4604 regarding the things H2764 designated H2764 for H2764 destruction H2764, for Achan H5912, the son H1121 of Carmi H3756, the son H1121 of Zabdi H2067, the son H1121 of Zerah H2226, from the tribe H4294 of Judah H3063, took H3947 some H4480 of the designated H2764 things H2764; therefore the anger H639 of the LORD H3068 burned H2734 against the sons H1121 of Israel H3478.
But the sons H1121 of Israel H3478 acted H4603 unfaithfully H4603 H4604 in regard to the things H2764 devoted H2764 to destruction H2764. Achan H5912, the son H1121 of Carmi H3756, the son H1121 of Zabdi H2067, the son H1121 of Zerah H2226, from the tribe H4294 of Judah H3063, took H3947 some H4480 of the devoted H2764 things H2764; therefore the anger H639 of Yahweh H3068 burned H2734 against the sons H1121 of Israel H3478.
But the sons of Israel acted unfaithfully and violated their obligation in regard to the things [off limits] under the ban [those things belonging to the LORD], for Achan, the son of Carmi, the son of Zabdi, the son of Zerah, from the tribe of Judah, took some of the things under the ban [for personal gain]. Therefore the anger of the LORD burned against the Israelites.
وَخَانَ بَنُو إِسْرَائِيلَ خِيَانَةً فِي الْحَرَامِ، فَأَخَذَ عَخَانُ بْنُ كَرْمِي بْنِ زَبْدِي بْنِ زَارَحَ مِنْ سِبْطِ يَهُوذَا مِنَ الْحَرَامِ، فَحَمِيَ غَضَبُ الرَّبِّ عَلَى بَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ.
