Philippians 1:12-14

Theme: The overruling providence of God

Point: God is in control of everything that happens in your life.

Transitional Sentence: Look beyond what happens to you and trust that God rules over and works through the circumstances of life.

Outline:

  1. God reigns over the circumstances of life (Phl 1:12).
    1. God's sovereign providence overrules what happens to you (v. 12a).
    2. God's eternal purpose overrules what happens to you (v. 12b).
  2. God works through the circumstances of life (Phl 1:13-14).
    1. God can use your circumstances to influence unbelievers (v. 13).
    2. God can use your circumstances to influence other believers (v. 14).
