尼布甲尼撒王又做了一个令他心烦意乱的梦，他的智者们无法解释。于是他召集了但以理，但以理再次来到国王面前，向他解释梦的含义。
这是尼布甲尼撒王所见的梦。现在他转向但以理，称他为巴比伦名字伯提沙撒，请他解释梦境。尼布甲尼撒已经咨询了王国的智者，但没有人能向他解释。但以理已经解释了国王的一个梦，国王意识到但以理有能力，因为圣神的灵在他身上。
