摩西最后的祝福与亚设有关（第 24 节）。亚设是利亚的女仆悉帕的第二个儿子，第一个儿子是迦得（创世记 30：9-12）。亚设这个名字的意思是“幸福的人”，意思是“幸运”。这似乎是对亚设出生时利亚所说的话的文字游戏，“‘我有福了！因为女人会称我有福。’于是她给他起名叫亚设”（创世记 30：13）。
摩西说亚设比众子更蒙福；愿他得弟兄的恩惠。这两句话表明亚设支派将比其他支派得到更多的物质祝福，宗主（统治者）上帝可能会继续给予亚设支派比其他支派更多的恩惠，从而保佑亚设支派。
当亚设将脚浸入油中时，可以看出这种祝福的程度。这里的“油”可能是橄榄油，因为部落领土上有许多橄榄园（参见附加资源中的地图）。“油”是物质繁荣的隐喻（申命记 32:13；约伯记 29:6）。亚设将脚浸入油中描绘了这个部落的人享受上帝赐予他们的繁荣。
如此繁荣的地区包括阿舍尔的领土可以通往地中海，并可以与其他国家进行贸易。但拥有直达大海的路线也会使他们容易受到攻击。
因此，在为亚设的领土繁荣昌盛祈祷之后，摩西现在希望亚设的土地能用铁锁和铜锁稳固（第 25 节）。锁（希伯来语“min'āleḵā”）这个词也可以译为“门闩”。在古代，大门和门上的锁定系统通常包括一个由木头或金属制成的门闩，该门闩滑入门柱的开口，还有门闩将门闩固定到位。这根门闩将大门或门关闭，以防止有人进入伤害他人。这些由铜或铁制成的门闩和支架可以使闯入变得更加困难。这就是为什么摩西要求亚设的锁用铁和铜锁固。
有了这样的保护，摩西在给亚设的祝福结束时说：“你的日子怎样，你安逸的步调也必怎样。”意思是说，亚设支派将蒙上帝的祝福和保护。
